The food is AMAZING, no joke. We chose this restaurant at the start just because it has the most “friendly” price for paella around the area and has over 4 stars on google map. We truly didn’t expect the food to be this good.
The black paella is so rich and delicious, it’s like devouring the essence of the ocean in a spoonful of rice. Best paella i’ve ever had. The country paella is pretty good too, very full of flavours but not too salty, the meat on top is very tender. The salmon tartar is very refreshing. The spaghetti with prawn is also really good, the sauce got a little nick of spicy flavour yet not being actually spicy, it’s mind blowing to be honest (yeah, we didn’t capture these two in the photo because they came first and we finished those in mere 5 minutes). We order the 1L sangria, and it’s made of champaign other than red wine, which is a bit surprising but it’s still really good and friendly for people who aren’t a big fan of a strong alcohol taste.
And the price is really not as expensive as the other restaurants, it only costs the three of us around 70 euro for a very satisfying and filling dinner (dessert not included since we’re too full). Would strongly recommend it to anyone who’s around the area if you want to enjoy some decent spanish dishes (especially paella)...
Read moreTerrible service, mediocre food. They only have three options for Paella and if you're looking to have some sea food Paella you have to make do with the disgusting black ink option. Sorry, but not Everyone likes squid discharge for food.
The waiters were unnecessarily rude and inattentive. We ended up getting the pork and chicken Paella to share, but priced at 20 Euros, the portion was not even enough for one person. I won't even mention how undercooked the rice was.
Sangrias were also minuscule in size and the squeaking noise from the kitchen fan accompanied with the constant banging of dishes together at the bar made it difficult to enjoy the worst Patatas Bravas in all of Barcelona.
As mentioned above, they are washing dishes constantly right next to your table. Their unorganized menu is printed on a few pieces of scrap paper which makes the venue even more off-putting.
At the end, we had to ask for the bill three times and each time we were presented with a new dessert menu instead. Avoid this place...
Read moreWe went to Nou Celler at around 5PM on a Monday in October. No queues, almost empty. Two kind waiters followed us to a table in the back. The atmosphere is comfy and warm. We order the sangría, some bravas and pimientos. Then pork cheeks and bacalao. Crema catalana to finish it all off. Holy sh*t the food is the best I’ve eaten in Barcelona.
It was so good we went on a different day to have the tapa selection (tiny plates, but good variety for €20), plus the black rice and the vegetable rice. Can’t call them paella otherwise the Valencians would like to have a word, but both were huge portions and incredible flavour. It was a bit more crowded on a Tuesday at 4PM, but there was no queue.
Price wise, it’s 100% worth it considering portion size, flavour and overall experience. One of the best places to enjoy Catalan...
