Disappointing experience overall. Don’t be misled by the star rating if you’re looking for something beyond a typical tourist hotspot serving average food.
We ordered a specific bottle of wine, but they initially brought out a completely different one which was half the price.... We’re not sure if this was a genuine mistake or something more deliberate – they assured us it was accidental. About five minutes later, they returned with another bottle (again, not the one we ordered) and claimed that the original bottle wasn’t available, despite it being on the menu. They insisted this new bottle was of similar quality and price, but we still refused it on principle.
The prawns in our seafood paella were virtually meatless, which was disappointing. Also the paella came out within 15-20 mins of ordering which means it was pre-cooked and re-heated - not how paella should be.
While the waiter was polite and seemed like a decent person, we didn’t appreciate the classic tourist-style service and overused lines clearly aimed at out-of-towners. We were also rushed off our table within 45 mins as were were presented with the bill before we had even asked for the bill and whilst we were still eating.... because "it was 7pm and they were changing shifts" - I've never experienced this before...
We’re used to dining at higher-end restaurants, so this may not have been the right fit for us – but we felt it was worth sharing our experience for those with similar...
Read moreWe were not really impressed. It started out well with some sort of waiter/manager showing us into the restaurant. Normally, I’m always reluctant when the restaurants have a need to stand outside the restaurant to get people in, but it was quite early in the evening (18:00) and the restaurant had 4.6 on google maps, so we gave it a try. We first had some cocktails for their happy hour, but they were mediocre and the pisco sour was very very sour. Looking back, we should just have left… then we ordered their set menu for 17euros which is indeed way too cheap. The waiter didn’t speak any English, but I know some Spanish, but still he didn’t make himself understandable to me by speaking slower. The first dish was a pasta dish which didn’t taste of anything, and we had to ask several time for some salt and pepper. Also we had to ask several times for some of the drinks. Our waiter didn’t seem to care at all. Then suddenly another waiter comes by and says there were a change of shifts, and we had to pay the bill. We did although we hadn’t received the main course yet which we waited a very long time for. It seemed that they were more interested in filling up the restaurant than to provide us with the...
