During our visit to Sophia Restaurant in Barcelona, we experienced exceptional service and food that really made our day.
Although the restaurant was packed when we arrived, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. With no table immediately available, they quickly cleared their own workspace - a table stacked with notebooks and staff items - to make sure we had a place to sit. This kind gesture showed their commitment to making every guest feel welcome, no matter what the circumstances.
As for the meal, it was excellent. The beef tartare served with tacos was tender and flavorful, a creative combination that worked perfectly. We also tried the falafel with hummus, which was fresh and delicious, a great balance of textures and taste.
Overall, Sophia impressed us with both the food and service. Their effort to accommodate us and the quality of the dishes make it a place we’d highly recommend.
One thing I would point out is the volume of the music, just a little less and it would be perfect, but we were sitting next to the loudspeaker so it is understandable that it was a little louder. But the playlist was good, so can't be blamed for that.
Overall, Sophia provided a memorable dining experience. The combination of their thoughtfulness and excellent food earns them a solid 10/10. If you're in Barcelona, don't...
Read moreI am not one to usually leave reviews, but I heavily rely on them. For Sophie's I will make an exception. The service, 10/10. I was quite nervous walking in since my Spanish isn't so great. However that became a nonissue, because I was greeted with such warm hospitality and was able to perfectly communicate with the host and servers. The food was perfection. My family and I ordered a variety of tapas to whet our appetite. They were all delicious but i have to give special shout outs to the tuna tartare, the octopus and the molten chocolate cake (coulant de chocolate)with vanilla ice cream. The tuna was so fresh and buttery. The octopus was extremely tender and with that puree, chef's kiss! The pièce de résistance though was that molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Perfectly decadent, but not too sweet. The liquid chocolate poured through as soon as we ran our spoon through. And that ice cream, wow! It was covered in crunchy bits that added the perfect texture to the perfect dessert. I will be thinking about that dessert for...
Read moreWe made a reservation for New Year's Eve on your site. No information was provided regarding the organization of a special evening, which suited us very well.
A few days later I received a peremptory email demanding that we pay a deposit of 195 euros per person, otherwise our reservation would be canceled!
The next day, we received a new email presenting us with a menu at 130 euros and asking us to confirm this option. We received a new email immediately asking us if we would mind changing the time of our reservation to 9:30 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m.!
The next day, today, we received 2 emails simply canceling our reservation without any explanation!
