Popular brasserie. Mix of locals and tourists. Waiter was obnoxious and service was slow. Food was good. Artichokes were great. Asparagus ordinary. Steak was yummy. It’s cooked a bit rare but then if they remember they bring out a hot plate for you to cook it to your liking. My friend’s lamb was flavorful but on the dry side. Their Catalan Crema is more a crème brûlée and too sweet for me. The basque cheesecake was fantastic. I think they must use brown sugar in it. Wonderful flavor and texture (I’ve had the original in San Sebastián, tried it in many restaurants, and make my own—and I think this one might be better than mine, certainly better than other restaurant basque cheesecakes other than La Vina). We split the bill and told the waiter to round up to the nearest zero, he rounded up higher than I said. My friend paid first, noticing the “error” (4 euros each more than what we said) and decided not to say anything. I let it go as well, giving him the benefit of the doubt. It may have been an honest mistake or misunderstanding but I don’t think so. Bottom line: there are similar brasseries in Barcelona with good food. Absolutely wowed! We decided to go here after reading so many good reviews and it was the best decision of our trip. This is hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten in anywhere in the world. The staff were great, both Eric and Lorenzo took great care of us. There was a good selection of different meats and Eric suggested the Wagyu steak split between two of us. We started with the bread and a salad which was delicious. Then came the main course and my oh my, it was absolutely the most delicious meal I have had in a long time. We ordered wine by the glass, as we like different wines and they had a great selection. Found this place on our first day in Barcelona. The place is nestled on a quiet street away from the main strip. We started with croquettes chicken and beef. Both were very well put together. Not oily or huge. Lightly breaded but yet crispy and meats were both moist. I had a nice size Spanish wagyu steak ( yea, I know true wagyu is Japanese), but the meat was very tender and severed perfect it can along with a Hot skillet to finish out your meat at your liking. My wife had a well cooked filet of chicken even though it was a breath, which a lot of restaurants tend to overcook them. This place really knows how to cook their meats. Truffle fries were great.
