Xian Restaurant is exactly the kind of spot you hope to stumble across when craving Asian cuisine — and thanks to a quick Google search, we did just that!

The reviews were glowing, and now we understand why. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We ordered the fried rice with egg and vegetables (generously portioned to feed 2–3 people comfortably), fried chicken wings, shrimp tempura, fried chicken dumplings, spring rolls, and one order of pork or beef ramen (can’t remember which, but it was fire).

Every dish stood out: the wings had a slight ginger flavor that was so unique and tasty, the fried chicken dumplings tasted like they were filled with magic, and the rice was the perfect base to reset our taste buds between bites. Each item was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor.

The staff were beyond accommodating, especially as we went back and forth deciding what to get — never rushed, always helpful. The space itself is clean, well-kept, and beautifully decorated, giving the place a warm and authentic Asian vibe.

And here’s the kicker — they offer takeaway, so if you’d rather cozy up at home with your feast, you totally can. Honestly, that alone makes Xian Restaurant a must-try. We’ll definitely be back! Oh wait, we...

Ramen was subpar and dumplings were over cooked and literally fell apart when I picked one up. I can deal with below average food, but our server was inept and towards the end of our meal, rude. She brought our entrees before our appetizers, and one of the entrees was cold. Not lukewarm. Cold. Like it had been sitting in the fridge like a grocery store pre-made meal you heat up at home. Except this tasted worse. Would have been cool if we were offered the chance to order something else or have the bad dish taken off our bill when we brought it to our server’s attention. She threw it in the microwave. The microwave!!! If you pay to go sit and have a meal cooked for you fresh, the meal should be hot and fresh. Server got super defensive when we politely told her the meal was not good and literally said “you still have to pay” although it was not eaten. Don’t come here if you’re searching for authentic Asian food in Barcelona, and if you want...

AVOID! Some of these 5 star reviews have to be fake. The food was far from authentic. The table next to us sent something back for it being cold and that should have been the sign to leave. Our appetizers came out after our entrees. The steamed dumplings were severely overcooked and mushy. I ordered the egg noodles which, surprise, were cold. Not warm, like refrigerated cold. I told the server and the only offer she had was to microwave it. Fine, if it was a fresh dish it should hold up. Your average mall Chinese would be better than this place. After mentioning this to the server, she got defensive and said it was cold bc it was made first. Why wouldn't you serve food while it is still fresh? Completely ridiculous and horrible service. We had to yell at the server to get our check after clearly wanting to...

This what happens when Chinese food meet European dinning style, they order their own plate individually. So you generally choose your base, rice or noodle, your ingredients, veggies, meat and mushrooms, then sauce, then order your drink. That is it, your chines bowl of fried rice/noodle. The two ladies worked there when I went were from Philippines, speaking fluent Spanish also some English. They told me the chef is from China, Xian, as the name of the restaurant. I ordered fried sweet potato noodles with veggies and teriyaki sauce. The taste was ok, but a bit too oily for me, I couldn’t digest it. I was happy they have the Zhenjiang Vinegar, from China. The spicy sauce was good too. Thank It is a choice for a lunch after 4 hours of street wandering.
