Txots Girona — Restaurant in Girona

Our experience was quite bad, and it’s the first time I’ve had such a weird experience at a restaurant in a touristy location while traveling around Spain and other parts of Europe.

We were a group of girls, and we felt there was slight discrimination against Asians (us) based on how the rest of the customers were being treated compared to us.

The staff ignored us right from the beginning when we arrived at the entrance to be seated—they wouldn’t look at or acknowledge us while we waited. Customers who arrived after us in the queue were greeted properly even before taking us to the table.

After being seated, it was extremely difficult to get the staff’s attention for anything. Each time, I had to get up and walk to them, whereas every other table could just look up and get what they needed.

My food arrived very late, after my friends had received and finished eating their food. When I asked about it, the staff simply said, “If you’ve ordered it, it’s probably coming,” ignoring the fact that it was very late.

Even to ask for the bill, we all had to get up and go to the counter because nobody would come to our table...

Would not recommend visiting if you're not a white person as I definitely felt the staff were rude and disinterested in attending to us. Customers who came after us were seated earlier and greeted with smiles while we had to practically get up from our table and wave down servers to ask for our food. We had one order come in very late and couldn't place subsequent orders for food and drinks. There was no point in the serving staff having headsets as they were either having poor communication with the kitchen or were understaffed. Or like we unanimously agreed they were just being racist and placing our requests below those of the other tables next to us. And the tables next to us had much bigger groups of people and yet were served on time and also with smiles. We waited for the last night of the holiday to try this place after a someone telling us it was a good steak here, we all had veal fillet that was supposed to be a lean cut of beef, only 1 came out when we ordered 4 but this might of been a language barrier error. The steak was so chewy that we could only eat about half of the steak, one of our group likes fat on their steak but it was to tough for him to eat also, we stated how bad the steak was was told we had another one on the way but we didn’t want it because how bad it was, we was told that one steak would be deducted off the bill which was a lie because we had less than €10 discount when the steak was around €20.
