IF YOU ARE A TOURIST DO NOT GO HERE! We were told that this was a nice place to grab a couple of drinks but we couldn’t have had a worse experience. Despite us being extremely polite and thankful, the waiter immediately used our language barrier against us in a very hostile manner. He tricked us to buy “the nightly special” which was essentially a tomato and bean soup that tasted like canned soup for 18 euros a bowl by essentially claiming it was a tapa. Then, when we received the check, I handed him my credit card and he explained “no no no, we don’t accept that here, look at this place!” Referring to the fact that it’s an old establishment. We were surprised because we had been traveling around Spain for a week or so at this point and never encountered a place that didn’t accept credit. We apologized and told him that we didn’t have enough cash. His mood shifted immediately and he became very angry. He told us he’d be right back and he stormed off. He came back after a couple of minutes and had an extremely threatening demeanor to him and whistled at me saying “Chico, Chico, get in here.” So I left my girlfriend at the table and went inside, not knowing what to expect. I was wondering if they were going to make me do dishes or something. It was rather alarming. But then I was brought to an older gentlemen who was working inside and he left me with him and bitterly said “you sort it out with him.” I apologized for not having cash immediately to the older gentlemen and he said nothing and just handed me the credit card machine… Most uncomfortable moment we had on our entire trip. We went to several other places in Granada and everyone was incredibly kind to us, so just go to other places instead. These people clearly have some kind of vendetta...
Read moreHad a great lunch experience here on Christmas Day! It was a beautiful day and the tables outside were all busy - one of the hosts promptly offered seating inside. Push through the narrow entrance and it opens up into an inviting area inside the cave, which was a cool place to have lunch if you can’t get the views of the Alhambra out front. The hosts were super warm and friendly despite our poor Spanish. The food and drinks were all delicious, including local delicacies which were new to us. We intended to split the chicken and almond pie, but it was so good we ordered another. The pio nono for dessert was easily better than the one we had at the place known for pio nonos in the busy area down the hill. Thanks to the friendliness of the hosts, the experience in the cave and the quality of the food and drink, we will remember this meal...
Read moreI had weary bad experience with waiter, food and high prices. First the waiter told my friend a bad comment about my body, at first she thought that she didn't understand him weal but later that we saw his attitude she realise what a mean thing he sad. Than he didn't want to give us a menu and he recommended us a big and good plate of vegetarian and fish food for 10€ each. When we get our food, we were really disappointed and still hungry when we left the place. The food was not tasty and it wasn't worth 10€ at all. Really expansive food and drinks and waiter had bad attitude. I will never go there again and I really don't...
