La Terraza del Alixares — Restaurant in Granada

We come from Canada and we were here for one night staying at the hotel. I ask to make a reservation for the restaurant and the guy at the reception told me I didn’t need one because it’s never full. So we got ready and got there at 9h25, there was a couple in front of us who was told there was no place at the restaurant but they have been told the same thing as us… That they don’t need to reserve because there’s always space. They took a random table and sat them down. The guy at the bar told us there was no table for us and that we could wait 20 minutes in case one reservation for 9h30 doesn’t show up. So we waited and then a table of 4 walk in without a reservation and they gave them a table. When we ask why they got a table and not us a waitress told me it’s because it’s a table of 4 and not 2. The table of 4 wanted us to bring 2 chairs to sit with them and they refused. So we waited, the guy was kind but the waitress seemed mad at us… Mind you, we were calm and polite. At 9h45 a table of 4 (they were only 2) gave us half of there table so we could sit and eat. The 2 waitress seemed so mad at us… But are server and the guy at the bar were very nice and professional. I get that they were full, but I ask to reserve and they said we don’t need to and then proceeds to tells us there’s not space but gives a table too people who arrived after us with no reservations also. The food was good but I ask a medium cooked steak, got it rare. I fell so bad returning it but I could not eat that, so they recook it medium rare… I didn’t say anything and just ate it.
