Wonderful place that we were not expecting to see at all. It was just a side detour but we found out that this was worth more than any tourist-y attractions or tourist traps.
Owner was very sweet, and my son thankfully with decent spanish skills was able to mediate a very nice conversation about the small shops and businesses of the region, and we managed to befriend the lady and bring my family to see too.
If you believe in small businesses, then I highly recommend you come and check out this site, especially if you are staying at Hotel Palace Alhambra, which it is directly outside the door of. The goods are all authentic, fairly priced, and of a wide variety, such as wood furniture, boxes, souvenirs, traditional ceramic tiles and jewelry, and even local books. I wish I could have brought back bigger pieces, they DO ship internationally (though it was a little pricey) so if you want a table or a chair or a larger piece it can happen. It was so hard to decide what we wanted, but ultimately the jewelry box caught my eye...

Walking around el centro there are so many souvenir shops that all seemed the same (lacking in quality). So I googled authentic souvenir shops on Google and this was the number one result. And it did not disappoint in the slightest. I stayed in there for over 2 hours admiring the work and chatting with the owner (one of the nicest lady’s I’ve ever met). Left the store with a beautiful piece I cannot wait to hang on my wall. Everything in the store is hand made and authentic. They’ve been in business for over 150 years and it shows. They’ll handle the shipping too. This shop will be a must see stop everytime I...
