Very disrespectful service. I ate there today with 3 Friends. A couple of months ago I ate sushi with my girlfriend and the sushi is good. Today however, I came out very disappointed. My friend ordered a crispy duck for 12€ which was the same size you would get in any japanese restaurant with curry and rice included for the price. The taste was not special either. My other friends had rice, which was a small portion, which would be fine for 9€. However, the fried rice with chicken and prawns contained a total of 1 (!) small piece of chicken, it lacked sauce and did not taste great after all. In addition, I received my meal after all my friends were already finished. In hopes of getting a plate of sushi as compensation for us or some kind of apology, we talked to the waiter, who let us know he would talk to his boss. After 15 minutes of nothing I asked him again what happens now (mind you we were all done eating for 15 minutes at this point) he brought the boss to our table, to whom I had to explain the whole situation again (in spanish). We proceeded to have an elaborate discussion next to other guests about how we were dissatisfied, while she tried to convince us that the rice was normal sized, the price was justified and I was wrong. After 5 minutes of discussion next to other guests she left our table without saying a word and did not come back. After that, we decided to go in and pay, because we had been sitting for an hour now. Demanding the bill, in her generosity, she took 20% off the two rices with no chicken, which is a joke. After another small discussion we paid and left. There was no apology, no compensation, no remorse. No matter what the complaint is, this behavior is completely unprofessional and disrespectful towards the customers feeling disappointed or the other guests witnessing the shitshow. If you care about good service and customer care, I would advise you not...
Read moreThis is a gorgeous restaurant but the food and the experience was poor. I ordered A. Salmon tartar B. Fried prawns C. Duck D. 6 piece nigiri
The salmon tartar was not fresh, mushy and discolored. The fried prawns were flavorless. The duck was decent. The nigiri from the 1 piece had was not fresh. Initially, I did not inform the waiter of my dissatisfaction with the appetizers however after eating one piece of nigiri it was confirmation that the fish was not fresh, and not worth taking the risk of eating. I informed the waiter of this and requested it be taken off the bill and I wanted the check. I showed him where the nigiri was discolored, the dying flesh easily coming off, and explained that I could taste in both the salmon tartar and 1 piece of nigiri that it was not fresh and I suggested the kitchen staff taste it for themselves.
As the waiter informed the manger/owner and chefs there was raised volume discussions in Japanese, two chefs were staring at me from the kitchen, this loud internal discussion lasted much longer than I was comfortable waiting. The waiter was apologetic for the food and the response from the other staff, but he was still working on removing the item for the bill. I expressed how uncomfortable the situation was and requested that the bring me the check as soon as possible as I was extremely uncomfortable and wanted to leave as soon...
Read moreI've been hesitant to review since we have not had the privilege to try the food, however having seen another recent reviewer with the same issue it seems this may be something the restaurant needs to address.
We too had a reservation that upon arrival, they couldn't find. I even showed the waitress the record of the phone call but this made no difference, apart from agreeing that the phone call was to their number. She made some noise about trying to seat us but ultimately said no, and with little apology despite it clearly being the fault of the restaurant, and possibly the waitress we were speaking to.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Haruki's food looks incredible. My parents were visiting from rural France and have not had sushi for many years. We had travelled across the city and made a night of it (or tried to), this being the one big treat we had planned while they were here.
Please review your booking process Haruki. If mistakes will be made, perhaps leave a couple of tables free to accommodate for them, or otherwise for walk-ins. You have a very special restaurant, which makes it all the more disappointing when a planned, and booked night,...
