One of those Instagram places with cute interior for a photo but no “substance”. Last weekend we ordered açai bowl, almond croissant, chocolate-orange cookie and hot beverages. Waiting time was too long (at least they could have brought us cookies, croissant and water as it’s something that doesn’t require 25 min of preparation). Regarding almond croissant- I don’t know if you guys know what is actually almond croissant, but we felt deceived. They filled the croissant with nata (whipped cream) and put some crushed almonds on top… was not even a half gram of almonds inside, let alone the almond paste! Yeeek. Açai was okay, too sweet though. Cookie was so impossible sweet that it gave me instant headache. My husband took a bite and refused to continue. I myself bake stuff for sell so I know a thing or two about it … Huge disappointment and will never come back again. P.S. Brunch & Cake - you should remove “cake” from the name of the place…

During our time in Madrid, we visited this restaurant twice for brunch, and it did not disappoint. The menu is available in English, which was super convenient, and it includes detailed allergen information – a thoughtful touch. The French toast and American pancakes were absolutely amazing! The portions were generous, which is always a plus. I’d also highly recommend the carrot cake – it was delicious and perfectly moist. The mango slushie was fresh and sweet, and I tried the mango matcha latte as well. It was a unique and tasty twist! If you’re on the hunt for a great brunch spot, this is definitely the place to go. Whether you're looking for something sweet or a refreshing drink, they’ve got you covered! However make sure you check your bill. We ordered a croissants and they run out It was on the bill. The waitress kindly refunded it.

Extremely Overrated! For the price they charge, the food quality is cheap and disappointing. I ordered the Banana Latte and Cherry Mocha , they basically served a café con leche and the banana came frozen jajajaja, also the banana flavor must have stayed in the cook’s imagination, I’ve had banana latte on other cafeterias that were great. The “cherry” was pretty much a cherry-flavored ColaCao, no cherry flavor at all. To finish, I ordered a “pear pancake.” What arrived looked like a Disney-themed plate , topped with sugary candies, some colored coconut powder probably bought at Mercadona, and pancakes dry as the desert. Totally overrated place, pretending to be fancy but serving poor-quality, overpriced food. Madrid has plenty of much better options.

I want to start by saying that I genuinely love this place. This was our second visit, and it remains a charming spot. The setting is wonderful, and the space is so inviting. The cakes are absolutely delicious, and the brunch menu offers so many tasty options. The majority of the staff are exceptional—welcoming, friendly, and attentive.

However, I was hoping to contact the restaurant directly, either through Instagram or email, to share my feedback personally rather than in a public forum, but unfortunately, I couldn't find any contact details.

That being said, I feel compelled to share a significant issue I encountered during this visit. One of the servers, with long blonde hair and glasses, unfortunately, left a very negative impression on all six of us in our party. While the rest of the staff was friendly and professional, this server displayed a complete lack of respect and basic customer service skills. She placed our drinks on the table without even acknowledging us, let alone offering a polite word or glance. Her attitude was dismissive, almost aggressive, and there was a clear lack of understanding of what it means to provide quality service. We were all appalled by her behavior.

It's truly unfortunate, because everything else about this restaurant is fantastic, and this server’s actions are detrimental to the otherwise wonderful experience. I hope the management takes this seriously and addresses the issue, as it could negatively impact the reputation of such a great place. A conversation with this employee to help them understand the importance of customer service would be beneficial, as we all felt her behavior was damaging to the restaurant's success.

Overall, I do love the place, but this experience left us all...

A Brunch Experience with Room for Improvement

Nestled in our neighborhood, we recently had the pleasure of visiting Brunch & Cake for brunch, and we were impressed by the recent remodeling. The space feels much more ample now, with a fresh color palette that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s a lovely place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.

The brunch menu offers some good options, and we enjoyed what we ordered. However, we felt that the menu could benefit from a wider variety of dishes to cater to different tastes. A few more creative options would elevate the experience even further at Brunch & Cake.

On the flip side, the service was not quite what we’ve come to expect from other establishments in the area. While the staff was friendly, there seemed to be a lack of training in some fundamental areas. A proper greeting upon arrival and a thoughtful farewell would go a long way in enhancing the overall dining experience.

Despite these service hiccups, the gorgeous atmosphere makes Brunch & Cake a place worth visiting. With a bit more focus on staff training, this restaurant has the potential to become a true local gem. We look forward to seeing how...
