Gracias Padre - Teatro Degollado - Restaurante Mexicano — Restaurant in Madrid

Overall the food was pretty good. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees. The problem was mainly the service. We got a table right away in a mostly empty restaurant and waited over 15 mins to even get our drinks ordered. After ordering the food, it took another 20+ minutes for appetizers to arrive. And our entrees didn't come until we finally asked. After 40+ minutes two of us were still waiting for our food. Meanwhile the restaurant was filling up with other patrons, and people who arrived 20-30 minutes after us were getting their food before us. No one apologized or explained why. The bathrooms were really filthy and in disrepair. The doors didn't close or lock in the women's restroom, the seat was barely attached. The walls were heavily stained and smelled...

Horrible service and food. I live around the corner and the service and food have always been good until recently. I ordered aztec soup with a friend who got the quesadillas and fish tacos.

Aztec soup was cold and tasted like hot sauce and water. The quesadillas were stuck together with cold globs of cheese and white chicken. The fish SMELT.

It was obvious that the food had been cold for a while.

We sent back 3 FULL plates minus ONE single taco that we all tried (just to confirm that is was in fact as bad as we thought). We offered to pay for the plates (although we shouldn’t have) and they still waited until everyone else had left to give us our bill. 60 euros of...

GRACIAS PADRE (TEATRO DEGOLLADO) 📍 DÓNDE: Calle de la Magdalena, 1 🍽 CRÍTICA: En la Plaza de Tirso de Molina encontramos uno de los muchos locales que Gracias Padre tiene en Madrid. Carta basada en la gastronomía mexicana, decoración muy chula, ten en cuenta que es un local bastante ruidoso, por lo que si quieres disfrutar de una charla con amigos o en pareja, no es el lugar más indicado.

Aclarado esto, el sitio nos gustó bastante, pero la atención deja mucho que desear, ya que tuvieron un error administrativo que se negaron a solucionar.

Gracias Padre ofrece una interpretación bastante comercial de la cocina mexicana, pero todos los platos son correctos. Íbamos con poca hambre, así que pedimos todo al centro y nos quedamos perfectos. De cantidad está bien, pero si vais muy hambrientos necesitaréis un plato más. -Totopos con todo (15,80€): Frijoles, pollo mechado, pico de gallo, queso gratinado, nata agria y guacamole. Buenísimos. Mucha cantidad y muy ricos, bien cargados de ingredientes. -Tacos al pastor y cochinita pibil (12,40€ 3 tacos / 4,50€ taco extra): Tortita consistente y bien de relleno, nos gustó mucho el sabor de ambos. -Tarta Margarita de queso con lima y tequila (6,90€): Viene con un chupito de Tequila aparte para que se lo eches a la tarta. Te recomendamos NO hacerlo, ya que sin él está mucho más buena.
