Avoid!

Very unwelcoming place for a place that was empty for lunch. If you read more reviews this is a common pattern.

First, the guy who opened the door just looked at us and walked away and didn’t return our greeting. This was after they opened over 15 minutes late.

However, by far the worst was the waitress. The tables were dirty from the night before (we went at opening). After I asked the waitress if she could wipe off the table she was rude from then and unfriendly for the entire meal. She hardly spoke a word and had a very unfriendly demeanor the entire time. This was the most unwelcoming service by a server we experienced our entire time in Madrid.

For the food, the salmorejo was my least favorite in Madrid. It was sour and had an off taste like it had spoiled. The mushrooms were not seasoned and tasted like they were also slightly off. Texture was like they were steamed but not sautéed.

The codillo and cheesecake were pretty good though.

Given the very rude servers there I would never come back but additionally the food and price in my opinion wouldn’t make me rush...

The waiter was everything but kind to us. At first he seemed happy and welcoming, but as soon as we started speaking in English he completely changed and seemed very annoyed by our presence. We ordered two portions of the same dish (Migas), he took our order confirming that we wanted two portions, but ended up bringing just one. A few minutes later, he looked back at our table and came to tell us (not in a kind way) that we had ordered just one portion and asked if we wanted another one. Peak moment: when he brought this second dish, he threw it on the table not saying anything. Also, we thanked him every time he brought us something, but he never answered or smiled or even looked at us.

However, the food was very good and the place had a great vibe,...

We dined last night in the place.Recommended by a local but disappointed. The fried mushrooms were ok.The grilled iberico(if that was iberico😂) was tougher that my shoe sole and salted excessively. The lemon sauce blended with the lemon peel(bitter).Glazed with pinnaple chimicburri😂😂 .Nothing was glazed and the pinnaple chimicburri looked like jam😂 My wife's beef rib probably forgotten when reheated to the point of destroying the meat. The sauce glazed to the point of caramel.Serious lack of cooking skills here!It was obvious that there was a lack of knowledge or a lack of love probably..Maybe good for some tapas and wine but that's it.Definetely not coming...

The service in this place is a joke. We came for the menu del día and they had us sit at a high table because they said those were the only seats left. We told them my wife had a bad foot and the waitress just shrugged. We sat down. We looked at the photos online and noticed it was very different than where we sat. My wife then noticed there was a downstairs and went to go and look. It was exactly what the photos showed but empty so my wife asked if we could sit down there. The waitress then angrily said yes but that we could only sit at the first table on the left. The food definitely did not make up for the service or the atmosphere.

I stepped in to have a bite to eat and I did not regret it! The service is amazing with lovely staff who do everything they can to help you with any question you have. They are incredibly attentive and always have a smile on their faces. The food is to die for! I have never tasted something as delicious as I was served here! Highly highly recommend for anyone to come - definitely the best food I have had in Spain! I especially want to praise Juan and Isabel who were particularly wonderful! Muchas gracias!
