Abuela Herminia - Parrilla y Paellas — Restaurant in Madrid

We found the restaurant on Google maps and stopped by for diner. We were seated in the back (see picture) which was rather cosy, but beware there was no phone connectivity in the back (this was not a problem for us). I had an Obelisk Salad and the others at my table had various steaks. We were met with a lovely waitress and an amazing and enthousiastic waiter. They really did their best and were extremely friendly. We were given some cheese and some appetizers, which were decent. The beer options were abundant and good as were the wine options.

When the food arrived it was OK. The salad was exactly that, a salad with things on, not bad, not good either, just basic for 12 euros. The meat, was also just OK. The taste of one piece of meat was above average but the other was a bit disappointing. We got some extra salad and some purée, which lacked taste. Both were again just OK. We felt that for this price range you can get better options elsewhere in Madrid. This place definitely has potential to be a lovely Argentinian restaurant, but the food requires more work to provide a better value for money in...

Actualización respuesta a la desatinada respuesta del “Propietario”: Mira sea o no sea camarera yo no tengo porque soportar y normalizar todo los malos tratos que pasamos mi pareja y yo ahí,es lamentable,segundo no pretendas que tengo que perder mi tiempo y amargarme más la comida hablando con un gerente que nunca vi y estaban todos a su bola y tercero usted como propietario,realmente sí que dejas mucho que desear por cómo respondes las críticas,eres más que borde,ojalá contrates más personal y no justifiques lo que no tiene justificación. Hoy fuimos a comer con mi pareja, la verdad era la segunda vez,porque la primera vez quedamos encantados con la comida y la atención de 10,pero pues hoy fue horrible la atención,porque la comida vamos genial,y es por eso que nos encantaba este sitio,y digo encantaba porque aunque la comida esté buena pues el servicio deja mucho que desear,en verdad pedimos 3 cosas un entrante un primero y un segundo, y al final el primero nos lo dejan así, sin nada más que decir nada,vale comprendemos,porque también somos camareros y había algo de jaleo,segundo nos traen la milanesa(era el segundo) con los raviolis(era el primero) a la vez y nos dicen que porque hay jaleo nos traen todo a la vez, que lo sienten vale lo entendemos pero sabéis no se aprecia la comida así porque enfría un poco la otra comida ,tercero pedimos postre y nos pone dos cucharas de sopa diferente (adjuntaré foto) y antes de eso con lo que flipamos,fue que preguntamos con que café trabajaban porque queríamos saber para pedírnoslo,el camarero nos dijo “a ver pues un café el de siempre es el mismo café con leche cortado sabes jaja”con ironía y muy borde,y ya para terminar de malograrnos la comida,al traernos la cuenta pues nos clavan una milanesa napolitana para 2 de 22€ cuando nosotros indicamos la de 1 de 17€ bien claro,lo dijimos más que claro,cuando le indicamos al camarero nos dice “A ver yo he supuesto que como son dos por eso se los he puesto así y tal que sabes yo no he entendió pero se han comido igual “ y nosotros en modo pero te hemos pedido la de 1 porque poner la de para 2 ósea te das cuenta ?,y obvio yo no sé la diferencia del tamaño entre 1 y la de 2 ,ósea no estoy pasándome de viva como al menos me hizo sentir el camarero al hacerle el reclamo ,al contrario si yo también que soy camarera y pongo algo por error porque “creo”o “me parece” lo reconozco,y no intento hacerle pagar a mi cliente por mi error y encima siendo borde e irónico quiero decir.Al final el buen rato y lo rico que pudimos comer a pesar de los inconvenientes que intentamos entenderlo desde la primera mala atención,pues fue un muy mal rato e incomodidad. Esperemos que mejoren esa atención de su personal venden una muy buena comida como para que sus clientes tengan que soportar...

We had a rather disappointing experience at La Abuela Erminia. We went at lunchtime, and there were at least four available tables. We just wanted to sit for a few minutes to have a drink, fully willing to give up the table if customers arrived who wanted to eat. However, the waiter was completely inflexible and refused to allow it, with no intention of reaching an agreement.

Maybe the food is divine, but we didn’t even get the chance to try anything because they wouldn’t give us the opportunity. And to top it off, when I approached to take a photo for this review, I was confronted and labeled a bad person—simply for wanting to share my honest opinion.

We found this attitude unnecessarily rigid, especially when there was plenty of space. In the end, we left with a bad impression of the service. It’s a shame because places like this should value the customer experience more instead of enforcing senseless rules...
