Panaria — Restaurant in Madrid

I thought this was a great cafe shop because the coffee is good, bread looks nice and the ambience is cosy. I come to this place with my Spanish teacher from time to time for one hour class. We never talk loudly or bother the customers around. We order our coffee or orange juice. However, the waitresses today were really rude which I consider as rare cases I have met in Spain... One lady first took our empty glasses and asked us to leave because more people were coming and there was no space. When we paid our bill, my Spanish teacher politely asked them why they pushed us to leave as it is our basic right to stay there as long as we want (but the fact is that we only stay one hour each time....). If they do not want to do business with customers who only order the drinks and stay for a few hours, then they should put a board outside saying clearly that they only welcome the customers who order a lot of food and either take away or stay there for only 15 mins to finish everything and leave. Hope you won't have this kind of embarrassing experience...

Absolutely delightful food, helpful waitress, charming small local cafe. Not for big groups so go elsewhere. The menu of the day includes a salad, main dish like quiche or small sandwich, drink and coffee. The goat cheese salad was lovely. Loved both their quiches. They have decaf coffee. Their pastry was delicious. My husband liked the chocolate milkshake cost extra. Service was great and speedy but they don't rush you. Will definitely go back. This is a local place but the waitress did speak...

He tomado merienda allí, está bueno el ambiente es muy bonito, tranquilo y excelente bollería, pero lo que me animo a realizar esta reseña es pq en estos días han realizado cierre de verano, y pensaron en su comunidad ... Una vez realizado el cierre cierta cantidad de bollería se va merma como pasa en todos los restaurantes y cafeterías del país, a pesar de q tratan de reducir la producción siempre queda ciertos biscochos y bollería para merma pq no aguantan a la reapertura, este a diferencia del resto de restaurantes y bares que lo llevan al cubo de basura, lo han dejado en el banco bien empacado con un lindo letrero que decía es bollería fresca, se la puede llevar, en ese momento paso una señora mayor, que quedó varios minutos leyendo ... Me pareció curioso pq la señora pues dudando si tomarlo no se había dado cuenta q estaba enfrente de la panaria y ellos mismos lo habían sacado. Sin dudar le anime a que lo tomara, y la señora con los ojitos aguados estaba agradecida con el destino, nombraba q su hija había entrado en paro y que estaban cortas de comida, este pequeño gesto le ayudó a una familia a comer un día más.... Felicitaciones al personal y al administrador del recinto que hay realizado este bonito detalle...
