Waited very few minutes for a table, and a few more minutes to be served. Once the food and drinks started coming though, it was worth the suspense. Smoky white bean soup, goat cheese and raspberry salad, Ox meat hamburger, beef bourguignon and veal with blue cheese sauce. Accompanied by a pitcher of sangria and followed with the most amazing chocolate cake I've ever tasted. The servers were friendly and they made sure to send over the gentleman with the best English, which helped out with our poor Spanish skills. Great value for the price, we paid 13.90 for the menu del dia and would do so a hundred times over. Great place, filled with locals. Warm atmosphere, it is a small place but that only adds to its charm. Clean and simple decor. Simple and well executed menu. Brought my parents here and they said it was the best meal they...

Do yourself a favour and come eat in this place. In my 1 week stay it was the only restaurant I felt the need to come back to. If you are looking for a place with great food and great atmosphere, this is the one. And when I say great atmosphere I don't mean your fancy restaurant with fancy arrengements and whatever, I mean a true traditional experience, honestly it's the closest thing to having a spanish "family lunch", the place is just extremly cozy, and gives you a warmth feel, and on top of that the food is just chef's kiss. I especially recommend the squid black ink rice if it's on the menu that day (as...

I read about this place on Instagram (thank you @jamesblickspain) and decided to try it for lunch on our recent trip to Madrid since it was within walking distance of our hotel. We were a party of two on a Friday afternoon. We arrived about 1:45 and the place was not quite full so we did not have to wait for a table. Everything about the experience was a pleasure. The restaurant was clean and lovely. We ordered from the daily specials menu, which includes bread, a beverage and dessert. Every dish was absolutely delicious and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend it and would...

It's difficult to find something positive about Badila. A set dinner menu for about 20 Euros sounds attractive, but the food just wasn't very good. One drink is included in the set menu, however, the additional drinks are not cheap. Although the waiters were cordial, 2 diners at the table were served 10 minutes before the other 2. When we inquired, the missing dishes were promptly brought out. The tables were very close together, in fact, it was almost impossible to get up from the table without bothering the table next to us. Also, the temperature was too cold (it's winter).

Even at the risk of attracting too many tourist here (I am sure the restaurant owner is catering more to locals), this place is an absolute gem. Best lunch spot in town! Fantastic food from starters to dessert, everything just perfect. This will be forever my go-to lunch place for Madrid. Be aware that the menu offering changes every couple of days and you can only order whats written on the board. Everything is in Spanish. But with a bit of effort and trying to speak a bit of Spanish, it’s all worth it!!
