Disappointing Experience at NH Zurbano Hotel

I am currently staying at the Saona NH Zurbano Hotel, and unfortunately, my recent dining experience has been highly disappointing. While this is not my first stay at the hotel, today's lunch experience has prompted me to share my concerns.

I ordered two starters—a tomato salad with burrata and cheese in bread—for a light and quick lunch before heading out. Prior to ordering, I specifically asked for the prices of each item and was informed that they would be approximately €6.50 each. However, when the bill arrived, I was charged for a full three-course meal, which resulted in a much higher total than expected. This feels misleading, as my bill should not have exceeded €14.

This is not the first issue I've encountered with the service. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the service remains consistently slow. Additionally, language barriers make communication difficult. I approached reception to clarify if there is a restriction on ordering fewer than three courses and paying accordingly, but the staff struggled with English and quickly became irritated. I was rudely informed that I needed to go back to the restaurant and ask them directly, despite being a guest of the hotel. It seems unreasonable that hotel guests cannot rely on the front desk for basic dining inquiries.

While I understand language differences, I have always communicated in either English or French when traveling, and it has been a significant challenge to do so here. With four more nights remaining, I will be avoiding the restaurant altogether. There are plenty of excellent dining options nearby, and I do not wish to risk being overcharged again.

I hope that management takes note of these issues, as I believe other guests might face similar...

Reservamos el menú diario para 3, nos dieron mesa a la hora reservada. De los vinos de la carta, solo había 2 tintos y 3 blancos disponibles, pedimos Albariño y NO estaba suficientemente frio. Los entrantes que pedimos fueron ensaladilla, croquetas y tempura, la ensaladilla buena pero escasa cantidad, le sobra oblea y falta ensaladilla, las croquetas que pedí eran de jamón y me pusieron las que quisieron, había de queso que yo no había pedido y la tempura lo mejor. Como principal pedimos el arroz meloso, que ni fu ni fa, el arroz era tipo brillante y más caldoso que meloso. Después del principal tuvimos que esperar como 20 minutos a que nos tomaran nota de los cafés, teniendo que insistir 2 veces. Pedimos 2 cafés y dos postres, dejando fuera de los menús 1 café, así y aun haciendo está mención expresa, en la cuenta incluyeron el café en el menú cobrando aparte el postre, que más que los 2,50€ de diferencia, es el detalle, habiéndolo indicado previamente. Es la tercera vez que iba a este restaurante y ninguna de las .veces me ha convencido, habiendo agotado las oportunidades por lo que no creo que vuelva. Conocí el restaurante por el Saona Gandía, y sinceramente...

El peor Saona de todo Madrid. O sea falta de organización entre los empleados, tardaron muchísimo en servir los platos y tienen una actitud pésima para trabajar cara al público. Entre el primer plato y el segundo tardaron 30 minutos como poco, tuvimos que devolver varios platos porque estaba la carne cruda no, lo siguiente. La bebida más de lo mismo, nos tuvimos que levantar 2 veces a la barra a reclamar las bebidas. Y encima sin haber servido los segundos nos vienen a tomar nota de los postres con la excusa de que la cocina iba a cerrar, ¿perdona? No me has puesto ni los segundos y me estas metiendo prisa con los postres, mira no. Los camareros se escaquean que no veas, se ponen a montar mesas o vete tú a saber qué cuando no están atendidas mesas que aún siguen comiendo. Para que os hagáis una idea nos han tomado nota a las 15.30 hrs y era las 17.00 hrs y aún no habíamos tomado el postre. O sea ha sido el peor sitio donde me han atendido de todo Madrid. Es una auténtica lástima porque hay otros Saonas por Madrid que trabajan increíble y con una profesionalidad exquisita, no es el caso de este Saona. Para nada lo...
