OPIUM CLUB — Restaurant in Madrid

It seems like most people either love or hate this place but I am somewhere in the middle.

Regarding the value, 200 Euros for a table for 5 with a bottle is actually very reasonable in my opinion. That is 40 euros per person for entry, a table and one fifth of a decent bottle plus mixers etc. The music was pretty decent as well. The staff we dealt with were ok. I saw them throwing a few people out for being too drunk which to be honest I do not have a problem with although it is true that they could have handled the situation better and with more care.

There are 2 main problems. First is that the whole thing feels a bit creepy. You have a few tables in the middle of very hot women who are clearly being paid to be there (or given free drinks/tables etc), know all the staff and just sit there doing nothing looking pretty bored. Then you have the rest of the surrounding tables that are 90% men staring at them. Makes it a bit of a seedy atmosphere. The other issue is the layout which means there is no real open space or dancefloor which kills the atmosphere a bit.

Overall it is not as bad as some have said but there are plenty of better...

We (2 couples) booked a table online for €300 for a birthday. The table was between two tables of 5+ men on each side with absolutely no space to even stand up.

We requested to move tables, agreed to pay €600 now instead of €300 - around us were only tables of escorts and pimps. We tried to ignore that and enjoy the music. However, they only played latin music even though it was american dream night (hiphop & afrobeats). We asked the waiter and shortly after, 2 english songs came on. It was then Latin again. We then went to the dj and showed him the picture i’ve attached, he literally ignored us - put 1 American/English song on and then latin again for the remainder of the night. We left shortly after.

I’m beyond disappointed with the quality of service for €600 ! This genuinely feels like a scam. I did not enjoy my birthday celebration. The one star are for the waiters working on the night of 21.10.2025 - the only plus side but nevertheless,...

How is this place even open? Spanish nightclub? First time ever coming upon a club like this , me and my friends bought tickets online to come here and the place outside was DEAD no line at all, if only we knew why!! 😂 we walked up to get into the club and within a second the bouncer on the door drew the eyes of every single one of us and said no we’re not getting in? You could tell we aren’t Spanish so he immediately said we are not getting in because we were wearing sneakers. On the ticket conditions it does not state anywhere there is a dress code? How is this aloud? The bouncer that was working Thursday night 07/09 at 01:00AM should not be ever aloud a job as a bouncer. Horrible old man! Not a nice experience at all the way he spoke and treated young girls. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! There is other much better friendly clubs in Madrid don’t waste...
