Tuk tuk has been my go to restaurant to visit during a night out with friends and I was fairly dissapointed with this one specifically.
I made a fairly early reservation with my mum and when I arrived the staff began arguing between themselves about were we were seated and we were pretty uncomfortable until one of them just took us to a table and apologized. As we had to eat early we expected quick service but they still took a while to even get us our drinks. Meanwhile the staff talked loudly downstairs and seemed to be having a bant.
The food did not make up for this lack of attention. With my usual being the Babi ketjab, I decided to order it. Not only was it cold but overcooked and very dry. It had a good taste but the texture was off. The desert was ok, I don't remember the name but was a cheesecake, a bit too sweet but was ok between two.
At the end of the meal I went to the toilet and one of the kitchen staff went in wearing gloves in to the single toilet, came out still wearing the same gloves and then didn't want their hands. This was absolutely disgusting and will not be returning to...
Read moreJust terrible. I've never eaten there but we just got it delivered via Glovo. The packaging was fantastic but that's the only thing good I can say. Well, the rice I had was fine, but the General Tso's chicken wasn't anything even remotely similar to the namesake dish. It was five little dice of bland, white chicken breast that would have been more at home topping a salad. And it was served with......more rice! Yay! It would have been nice to have known that prior to ordering. The pancit was fair but nowhere close to the typical filipino delight. In general, it's a lot of glitz and glamour, some nice photos, and little redeeming value. Truthfully, I'd rather order from a couple of more authentic places I know or from the typical Chinese food place in my neighbourhood. The latter might not be great, but it's about the same sort of fare as you'll get from Tuk Tuk at...
Read moreWe tried here based in the reviews we see on Google.. who ever thinks this place serves authentic cuisine should jump on a plan to Asian and try real street food. The Moo Ping (pork) is so far from the real dish, even the cut of pork is wrong - let not talk about the flavors - in saying this it was acceptable but far from what the dish if you know it.
I don’t know what to say about the pad Thai or Chicken Krapo on the menu - pad tai was just awful swimming in tamarin sauce that it was almost un eatable and the Krapo well how the restaurant could claim this is authentic is beyond me - 7/11 in Bangkok server better microwave Krapo then this restaurant.
The presentation of the food is great, service is average but if you want authentic food then forget it - at best it’s a poor...
