VIPS — Restaurant in Madrid

In all honesty I’m not sure why this place is always crowded. The food was okay and our service was terrible. As a non native spanish speaker I was trying to communicate the best I can but our server kept giving me attitude when I couldn’t understand what she was saying. Also, I had to go and find my own English menu from around the restaurant. As a touristy place it’s not unexpected to have non spanish speakers. My boyfriend ordered the pancakes that looked absolutely nothing like the picture or description and they were out of syrup which would have been nice to know before ordering. I got the burger which was nothing spectacular, but also wasn’t particularly bad. However, we received our food at least 10 minutes before our drinks got to the table, despite asking for them multiple times. THEY WRITTEN DOWN THE ORDERS AND NEVER BRINGED THE FOOD. the bill came to the table with the sandwiches we had ordered twice, in addition to being poorly marked (they weren't the ones) they still wanted us to pay for them. Fuimos a comer a este Vips y lamentablemente la experiencia fue muy desagradable, principalmente por el trato recibido por parte de la camarera llamada Narcisa de Jesús.

Desde el primer momento, su actitud fue borde y maleducada. Al tomarnos nota, le hicimos unas preguntas sobre los platos y su reacción fue poner los ojos en blanco y voltearlos, algo totalmente fuera de lugar. Nos habló de manera cortante durante todo el servicio. Pedimos botellas de agua y le pedí un vaso con hielo, no me contestó y simplemente se fue. Tuve que volver a pedírselo para que finalmente me lo trajera. Mi compañera pidió también un vaso con hielo, y su respuesta fue: “ya traje uno”. Le tuvimos que aclarar que ese vaso era para mí y que ella quería otro.

Pedimos menús, y nos trajeron el primer plato, pero antes de terminarlo ya nos estaban poniendo el segundo encima de la mesa, sin dejarnos terminar tranquilamente. A otra compañera le trajeron un segundo plato que no había pedido, por lo que tuvo que cambiarlo. Al cambiárselo, además, le pusieron una guarnición distinta a la que venía en el menú, sin consultarle.

Después del segundo plato nos tomaron nota de los postres, pero tardaron 20 minutos en traerlos. Al terminar, pedimos la cuenta y tuvimos que pedirla más de tres veces para que finalmente nos la trajeran.

Para colmo, cuando por fin llegó la cuenta, venía mal: nos querían cobrar las bebidas aparte cuando estaban incluidas en los menús, lo que suponía 30 euros más. Al decírselo, la camarera se mostró molesta, nos dijo que teníamos razón y nos trajo una nueva cuenta… pero volvía a estar mal, ya que había incluido el plato erróneo que previamente se había cambiado.

Sinceramente, no recomiendo este establecimiento. El servicio fue lento, desorganizado y con una actitud por parte de la camarera absolutamente inaceptable. El trato de Narcisa de Jesús fue pésimo y desagradable. No...
