We reserved a table for 5 of us. Two of us had a starter of chicken and shrimp shumi and a soft shell crab salad. Both were delicious.
For mains we ordered bao buns with char siu pork, egg fried rice. Crispy duck with pancakes. Lemon chicken with jasmine rice. We had rose and red wine and a non alcoholic beer and a normal beer.
Service was very good from the moment we arrived and ordered our food. Everything came quickly and was freshly cooked and hot.
The food was presented so well it was a shame to eat it, but we did. Five stars given for service, food and atmosphere. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the menu stands out to fit in with the decor.
Will definitely go back when I visit Puerto Banus again as long as the standard remains.
We came back to Chow Asian Kitchen, clearly it has changed management, the interior has changed completely and so has the food
To be honest I wasn't impressed, my 5 ⭐ has gone down to 3 ⭐. We ordered starters to share, the karaage chicken and the prawns, but we got fried squid, instead of the prawns. For just mains we decided to share the lamb, we were told it was enough for 2/3 people with bao buns, sauces and lettuce leafs. We also ordered the baby back pork ribs with rice for my husband's son.
They brought a food item to the table and I asked what it was, apparently it was the wrong order. They were not very busy, I cannot see how they can get the orders mixed up. They eventually brought the lamb, which was huge it would feed more than 3 people, I don't think the compliments were enough for the size of lamb, they brought us more lettuce leafs, which they charged us for. The 3 bao buns were cold and there wasn't enough to share. In the end we took the lamb away.
Comparing our visit 2 years ago to now, we were very disappointed and more than likely won't go back.
Although the staff were friendly and nice, the order was messed up, and the staff seemed to disappear from the restaurant floor when you...
Read moreWhen we walked past the restaurant looking for the tight place to eat the smell in the air was beautiful. We came back after looking at a few other restaurants as we were drawn by the location and aroma. We were waiting at the front of the restaurant but were ignored by the staff waiting other tables, which is fine but they didnt even acknowledge us. I therefore had to walk inside to ask someone for a seat. They eventually stuck us on the furthest table at the back, although there were plenty of seating available, and my wife and I believed it may have been because we had a two year old. We were served pretty quick which was nice. They asked us if we wanted to use a knife and fork instead of the chopsticks which we said yes please. The starters came out pretty quick which was fantastic but the 40 min wait between the starters and mains was terrible. I asked where the food was and it came out immediately. This may well have been because it was ready at the exact moment I asked or I believe it was left on the side and no one had brought it over because when it arrived it was not hot, as you would expect it to be. Food was decent but probably not worth the price they were commanding. What topped off our horrible experience, was the bill. There was a €4 ‘cover’ charge which my wife and I were baffled at. When I asked what this was for, the waiter told me it was for the use of knives and forks, and told me ‘I’m in Puerto Banus’ almost as if I should expect that. Never have I ever had to pay for cutlery in my life. Either way we paid the bill and left a tip. Its safe to say I’ll never be returning to Chow. I never complain about anything but this annoyed me on my way home. I hope you have a better experience...
Read moreWe had gone here early for dinner as we were meeting a group later on. The Kitchen wasn't quite open but they were happy to let us sit down and peruse the menu so we were ready.
We ordered our drinks, and the only drawback with our service here was how long they took to come. We already had our starters and were waiting on our drinks. People who had come in after were being served theirs. We checked up on this and they just seemed to had forgotten them, but they were promptly served after this.
The food was divine. We had the sticky chicken to start and the spicy edamame beans. The spicy edamame weren't overly spicy, but the sticky chicken was some of the best chicken we have ever eaten.
For main we shared the lamb sharer which came with bao buns. It says serves 2-3 on the menu. It could probably serve more. This was delicious. The only suggestion we would make here is that more bao buns are provided. There were two of us and only 3 bao buns, and you can definitely do more than two bao buns for the amount of meat you get off the bone.
Would...
