OMG, my new favorite gelato in Gran Canaria (Italian speaking here :))
We live in the area, so we decided to go and try Amorino — just a quick stop in front of Mogan Mall (which, by the way, is hands down the most beautiful shopping center in Gran Canaria). But this wasn’t just a stop… it turned into an experience. From the outside, Amorino is simple and unpretentious. But don’t let that fool you — the quality speaks for itself. This is not your average gelato shop. First off, let’s talk about the staff: the girls working there were absolutely lovely — friendly, warm, and clearly passionate about what they do. Watching them prepare our gelato was like watching an artist at work. Each scoop is shaped petal by petal into a delicate rose, with care and precision. Honestly? Pure poetry. And then... the flavor. We tried pistachio, salted caramel, and Amorino chocolate — and each one was spectacular. Rich, deep, natural flavor — no fake sweetness, no shortcuts. Just high-quality ingredients doing what they do best. We also got a gluten-free cone, and to our surprise, it was even better than the regular one (which was already excellent). Light, crispy, flavorful — no compromises. To finish, we grabbed 6 assorted macarons, and let me tell you: the salted caramel macaron deserves a love song of its own. Each one was perfectly made, with just the right balance of crunch and creaminess. Again — pure quality. And what really amazed us? The lightness. Even after indulging in everything, we didn’t feel heavy or sluggish. That’s not always the case with ice cream — but here, it’s a testament to how well it's made.
Now, a quick note: it’s slightly pricier than other gelato spots (we paid €10 for two cones, one medium and one small, and €13 for 7 macarons). And honestly, the prices of gelato on the island have increased significantly. Still, every single cent is worth it. Truly. You’re not just paying for dessert — you’re paying for a moment.
We’re already dreaming of trying the gianduiotti next time… Please open another location somewhere else on the island — we’ll be your...
Read moreWe waited in line for a very long time, and there was only one family ahead of us placing their order. They took an excessive amount of time, and eventually, we had to leave. My four-year-old son became very upset. The family seemed completely uninterested in the wait, discussing irrelevant topics for what felt like forever. To make matters worse, the staff member who was working just ignored us completely. It felt like they did it on purpose. We waited in line for...
Read moreWanted to order coffee at 21:10. Was told no because she was closing ( store closes at 22:00) and already cleaned machine. It is a piston machine and cleaning takes 5 minutes to rinse. The guests before could have coffee. Very bad service for something so small. Felt discriminated because i seemed younger than the other guests. Was treated differently. Would not reccomend. It is that giving a star is mandatory but it...
