Was intrigued by this place when we were roaming around Palma looking for some nice cocktails and a bit of grub; LILI'S was highly rated and it was nearest to us, so we decided to check it out.
First impressions: It was aesthetically pleasing and we loved the interior design.
Cocktails/Drinks - One of the cocktail that was ordered was a Pina Colada. The waitress hesitated after hearing the selection (it seemed like she wasn't experienced in making this concoction) but nevertheless still proceeded in making it - it arrived 10mins later (for a restaurant that have 'cocktails' as a headline, I feel like the staff should be knowledgeable will any cocktail that's advertised on their menu) However, I must say that atleast it was nice, but the wait time was too long.
There was only 1 person working (taking order, making drinks and even sending out food too) in this place when we visited which I found quite weird. There was another family that arrived when the waitress was making our Pina Colada and they were left waiting for atleast 15/20mins after being seated. I didn't feel any sense of professionalism in this restaurant with how it was managed.
Food - Ordered the Tortilla de patatas (€8) & toasted bread with Balearic Sobrasada (€6) To be honest, it was fairly overpriced. Paying €6 for essentially A small piece of bread with mashed sausages spread across it, drizzled with honey and garnished with some nuts. Same goes with the potatoes, just not worth the €8.
To sum it up; Stunning restaurant in terms of aesthetics and design. Food was overpriced for the quality that was delivered. Service was mediocre We paid via card at the bar, and the staff made a comment which surprised us. She presented us with the bill and asked "will the tip be added via card too?" I was thrown back by it but still proceeded to give a small tip as I felt slightly pressured and I didn't know how to react as this was my first time it was asked in this manner & to be honest, I found it a little cheeky especially when the service was little to non existent.
Lengthy review but I was left disappointed and unsatisfied overall so I had to share my experience to others (and the owner) so they are aware of how their establishment is...
Read moreVery disappointed. I ordered the Angus burger since I was hungry and it was highly recommended by the server. I asked if it could be done medium, as I don’t like overcooked meat, also I like the juice from the meat to get into the bread. The burger arrived cooked to death, dry and chewy to the cut, I didn’t try it. They made a new one, when I cut it to see if it was medium rare the meat was strange, felt like cutting through a salami, dry and pressed. I had to asked if it was “real meat, if it was fresh or frozen” Never had I have a burger patty that was dry (red in the center, but no juice or blood coming from it, nothing at all, not even fat or oil) very compacted, strange texture, hard, with a rubbery consistency that was hard to cut. It only took one bite and while chewing the consistency of the meat was crunchy, as if I was chewing a chorizo, had a hard time swallowing it as I just wanted to spit it out. When I’ve asked, I was told that’s the way people like it here, compacted and dry, I’m not sure about that, as I had delicious meat not only in Mallorca but throughout Spain including burgers that were juicy and tasty. I was asked if I like to order something else, I decided to eat elsewhere, they still charge for the burger, which to me doesn’t show that they stand by their products/food. As an owner I would have come to the table, but the owner didn’t. That on itself tells a lot about this business and its owner. Never in my life I’ve seen burger meat like that. Definitely wouldn’t...
