I got kicked out of this restaurant.
“혼자서 메뉴 4개 시켰는데도 예약 안 했다고 1시간 안에 식사하고 꺼지라는 식당”
« The premium restaurant that told me to GET OUT IMMEDIATELY just because I didn’t have a reservation — even though I ordered four plates just for myself — and still only gave me one hour. »
I didn’t know that there is TIME RUSH for the person who didn’t have reservation.
I was the only asian girl at dinner time, 8th April so maybe some of your staffs can remember.
The hall manager let me in even though it’s only one person, because there were people who booked for 18:00 didn’t show up.
THANK YOU FOR KINDNESS
So I got a place at 18:25, ordered at 18:30.
I ordered 4 plates; courgette flower, omelette, grilled octopus, Arroz de gambas
It was huge order for one girl, I knew, but I love to try foreign foods so did I.
The very first dish came out at 18:42, and the last one at 19:23.
For sure, all plates were good, before I heard that I need to leave now at 19:45.
Manager told me to leave while I was still eating, so I asked for just 10 to 15 more minutes since I hadn’t finished my food yet.
But she said, “I let you in even though you didn’t have a reservation. You’re occupying too much time.”
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
I just needed 10minutes to finish all.
If the hall manager or the server mentioned that I need to eat little quickly for other people who booked for next timetable before I ordered, I’d willingly take 2 or 3 plates.
Or it could be better whoever says sorry first, then he/she wants me to leave in 10-15mins.
After I argued with the hall manager for few seconds, she called the server and let him to give me the receipt.
That means that I got a recipt even I didn’t finish.
I’m living in Europe, and I know it does mean that GET OUT
I ordered €83 worth, and you’re telling me I’m not even a customer?
Just because I DIDN’T MAKE A RESERVATION AND THE HALL MANAGER LET ME IN WITH HER KINDNESS?
At the very least, the server, the guy with short curly hair— you shouldn’t be treating me like this.
You know exactly how much I ordered. You were the one who took it?
If you had just spoken with a little more consideration, I wouldn’t be writing a...
Read moreWe booked a 10 PM reservation at El Camino in Palma, arriving right on time with a few others joining just after. While waiting for menus, we were chatting, but once they finally arrived we were immediately told we had three minutes to order before the grill closed (around 10:15). This was shocking, especially since on previous visits—when seated at the counter—we’ve been guided in a much more thoughtful way (e.g., “would you like to order this before the kitchen closes?”). This time, the tone was rushed and dismissive.
When the food came out, it felt more like a scramble than service. Dishes were dropped wherever, often just handed to us, leading to spills on the table. The staff seemed entirely focused on closing up rather than creating any sense of hospitality.
Worse, as our main courses arrived at the table, large yellow trash bins were wheeled straight through the dining room, and I was asked to move (from the head of the table) so they could pass. At one of Palma’s “hottest” restaurants, this was beyond unacceptable. Then came dessert—again, a menu handed over with “you have three minutes, just order this one now.” At that point we declined.
When I raised concerns, the manager shrugged it off, saying the owners require everything shut down quickly, that staff are under pressure to clear out, and that service issues were due to language barriers. No acknowledgment, no gesture of goodwill, just “make an earlier reservation next time.”
We were one of three larger tables of five seated around the same time in the back; despite finishing first and choosing to leave early, the other two tables and several guests at the bar were still there long after us.
The food is good, but the service is appalling. If the owner, Eddie, is more focused on squeezing in covers and saving labor costs than creating a proper dining experience, I’ll vote with my wallet. There are plenty of restaurants in Palma where the staff are genuinely warm and attentive—this is not one of them. We won’t be back, and I’d encourage others to think twice before booking here for a...
Read moreFrom the moment we stepped into El Camino, we knew we were about to embark on a special culinary journey. Tucked away in the heart of Palma de Mallorca, this gem delivers not just a meal—but a beautifully orchestrated experience that lingers long after the last bite.
Ambiance: El Camino strikes a balance between intimate and lively, with its long, elegant counter inviting conversation and connection. The decor is warm yet refined, echoing a cosmopolitan tapas bar fused with Mallorcan soul. Watching the chefs in action right before you adds a theater-like touch to the dining experience.
Service: The service was absolutely world-class. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive without hovering, and clearly passionate about what they do. Every recommendation felt personal, and each dish was presented with pride and care. Our server took time to explain the menu’s finer points, guiding us through pairings and ingredients with precision and charm.
Food: Every single dish was a masterpiece of flavor, texture, and presentation. The Iberico pork was tender and seasoned to perfection, while the grilled octopus offered just the right char with melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The anchovies on toast were a punch of umami bliss, and the tuna tartare was delicate and vibrant, layered with fresh, zesty notes.
We ended the evening with their signature chocolate fondant, which was decadent without being overwhelming. Paired with a carefully selected Spanish wine, the entire experience was harmonious and elevated.
Final Verdict: El Camino is a must-visit for any food lover in Mallorca. It’s rare to find a place where the passion for food and hospitality is so tangible. Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or a local looking for a refined night out, El Camino delivers excellence in...
