Maura - Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Palma

We stopped on our way to the Basilica and the palace. We were going to have drinks only, but decided to have lunch. We decided to sit outside and were told to pick a table. We chose a table at the back in the shade with a big hedge behind us. We had the Salmon Poke Bowl and the 350g Galician Steak and Potato Wedges. A lemon Fanta and a Pint of San Miguel. My wife thought the Salmon Poke Bowl was really fresh and the different flavours worked really well together, she said it was really filling and satisfying. My steak was absolutely gorgeous. Every mouthfull was superb. Even the humble potato wedges were amazing. Super crispy and packed full of flavour. This was the second best steak I had on our Mallorca trip. The staff were friendly and all spoke English. There was also musicians playing at the side of the restaurant, there was one guy with a guitar and his palying and singing was really, really good. After him there was a guy playing an accordian. He was good, but not as good as the first guy. We had a nice time at Maura and will go back the next...

The food was terrible. I ordered a pokebowl chicken and it was dry and hard on the surface, as if it had been sitting in the kitchen for days or as if the chef had taken it straight from the freezer and thrown it straight into the pan. I left about three quarters of the portion uneaten. I showed the meat to the waiter, who apologized that I didn't like it, but said that the meat was definitely fine. I didn't even get a discount and I didn't eat the food. I returned almost the entire portion and made it clear that I didn't want to eat such disgusting meat. The whole experience was underlined by the service. I understand the Spanish temperament, but this is politeness and a kind of correctness towards customers and that is a big difference. Then I went to the toilets, which were dirty, urinated on the floor. There was paper everywhere, so the overall impression...

The food was absolutely delicious!! I had the Mango bowl and it was the perfect combination of smooth airy puree and crunchy topping. There were fruits, nuts and coconutflakes beautifully draped on top. The waiter was attentive and very nice.

I've come again after 4 months. But this time for Lunch. I've been amazed as always. The waiter (Isaac, sorry if it is spelled wrong...) was fast and very nice and attentive, asked me multiple times during the meal if everything was good. Thumbs uppppp! I had the Poke bowl pollo wich was nice. But what was the real deal was that crystal bread with tomato! Very delicious!! And rightfully so: the tabel next to me ordered the same after seeing my bread! Hihi
