Having dined at the sister restaurant Koa we were expecting big things. Forn is pitched at a more upmarket approach.
We had patatas bravas and croquettes to start, followed by truffle rigatoni and monkfish with red pepper gnocchi. Flavour wise the food was very nice, nothing tremendous unlike koa. Portions were small as expected but enough with the exception of the monkfish which came with 4 very small gnocchi. Other good points and the place was clean, nice design and staff were pleasant.
Bad points. On arrival we were given our menus. No drinks menu presented yet immediately the waiter asks what you want to drink. Complete opposite to Koa. The menu is nice with plenty of tapas choices and around 4 options each of starter, pasta, fish and meat. Note however there are no side dishes. After taking our order the waiter provided a small plate of nibbles to share and 1 single slice of bread each from a choice of 3. Now I have eaten at my fair share of restaurants of all grades and I cannot in my memory recall anywhere else that has charged for these nibbles. We had no idea until the bill came. Very poor in my opinion. The last point is that despite there being air con the dining area was very stuffy (perhaps as everyone is tucked into a tight room) and both my wife and I were sweating throughout our meal.
In conclusion our food and drinks were nice. Service from waiter was fine. We were not blown away and took no lasting memory from our experience. We skipped dessert and crossed the street to book Koa again! Beautiful decor, classy but not as pomp and superb food.

Read moreWe dined here on last Sat night around 9:30pm, and experienced significant food poisoning within 12 hours of our meal. In addition, the diner to my left threw up on her table the same night- which is hard to believe. We came based on recommendations and positive reviews so were quite surprised by the negative experience we had.
We were sat upstairs which had a slightly less lively atmosphere than downstairs. Our server was friendly but service was slow, our drinks were brought well after our first dishes arrived. We ordered the toasted tomato bread, aburi sea bream, tuna tartare, duck fritters and zucchini cannelloni.
Unfortunately, shortly after we completed our meal, my partner felt queasy. By that night, we had begun experiencing symptoms of food poisoning with my partner having quite extreme physical symptoms, and myself experiencing a fever by the next morning. The food poisoning made our journey out of Palma by plane quite unpleasant.
This raises concerns of food safety issues at this establishment or potential unclean water being served. In any case, I cannot recommend this restaurant and would encourage diners to seek alternative...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience here! The space is modern and very comfortable (we sat upstairs and loved it), our server was super nice and the food is excellent. They have a very creative menu with something for just about anyone. We were in the mood to sample, so we stuck with the starters and a dessert. We stared with the obligatory patatas bravas and we're glad we did. These are unique, little blocks of potato and carved out and filled with delicious chipotle mayo. Next, the seared scallops w/ smoked cauliflower puree and warm bacon and date vinaigrette. What a great combo of flavors and the scallops were perfectly seared and tender. The beef slider w/ smoked cheese & caramelized onion was awesome as well. We ordered it 'poco hecho' and it came out just right, nice and rare. ANother very creative and delicious dish was the roasted pumpkin w/ smoked feta cream, onion confit & balsamic gastrique. We usually don't eat dessert but the looked so good we had the bacio di dama, caramelised strawberries filled with crème brulée. Oh, and not only is all the food incredible it is beautiful...
