My boyfriend, his parents and I recently visited the Ritzi, a place we used to frequent and enjoy, but unfortunately, this visit was deeply disappointing.
At the start, the service was acceptable, but that was mainly because we were the only customers in the restaurant. Once more people arrived, everything went downhill. There was only one waiter managing all the tables, and the service slowed to a crawl. After receiving our main dishes, we waited over 25 minutes for our dessert, even though it was visibly ready and just sitting in the kitchen.
Speaking of the food, we both ordered the 28€ truffle noodles, opting for the full portion instead of the half portion. However, what arrived felt more like half a portion anyway. After just 3-4 bites, the plate was empty. The truffle sauce was bland and lacked in salt. For that price, we expected a much more substantial serving. This got me wondering how tiny the half portion would be.
When it came time to pay, a second waiter appeared—but it's important to clarify that he was not responsible for our table. He had just arrived as we were about to leave, yet he was the one who brought us our bill. To our shock, after we paid, he audaciously asked if we weren’t leaving a tip.
We were honestly stunned. Since when is a tip owed, especially when the service was far below standard?
We used to be regular customers at the Ritzi, but after this experience, we won’t be returning. The lack of professionalism, combined with subpar portions and slow service, left us extremely...
Read moreA very mixed review for this restaurant. It was pretty empty when we got there, lots of other nearby restaurants were packed. Maybe this is for a reason ? The service was satisfactory as was the food. But there were 2 things that were very concerning !! 3 of us ate, 2 ordered their food and the waiter talked me through the specials. I asked him what one he thought was best for me. He strongly advised the sea bass. As everything on the menu was €25-35 euros I didn’t think to ask the price. The food came out and it was fine. But as you can see from the pictures it was an average amount of fish, one portion of chips and one portion of spinach. When the bill came (see pic) I just paid, gave €10 cash tip and left. In the morning I noticed they had charged my card €209 instead of €189. Maybe genuine error - but I have my doubts ! I emailed and to be fair they did refund the difference. I then questioned the €69 euros they charged for the sea bass. They sent me a picture of the specials board with that price on…. BUT FOR 2 PEOPLE ! Why would a waiter be recommending that to one person ? It makes no sense. €69 for sea bass & chips !!! Plus there was only enough fish, chips & spinach for one person as you can see from the images. So overall I would not recommend this restaurant. Watch what they charge you and be mindful of what they are recommending. You could end up with a totally inflated bill...
Read moreThis restaurant is an absolute joke. We were the only ones there, yet the staff was overwhelmed. We ordered truffle pasta prepared in a Parmesan wheel. To sum it up, the portion was the size of a child’s meal, and the food was practically tasteless except for the overpowering truffle oil (there was no salt or pepper in the dish). To make matters worse, the pasta was covered in a watery sauce that had even less flavor than the dish itself.
When we decided to order dessert, we waited twice as long as we did for the main course—even though there were only two occupied tables. The best part came at the end: after nothing worked or tasted good, a staff member (a man with a ponytail and shaved sides—avoid this person at all costs) who hadn’t been around during our entire meal approached us when we wanted to pay. He had the audacity to ask why we weren’t leaving a tip, claiming that they “have to make a living too.”
This experience was the epitome of poor service. The place is a cheap tourist trap that treats customers as nothing more than a means to an end, with no care about whether they’ll ever return. Do yourself a favor: take your money and go to...
