The hotel is in a very central location in the old city but did take some finding. If you have any trouble just ask for the Bar Iru, which is next door and known to most.||||We were greeted on our arrival by an elderly couple. Some Spanish is definitely an asset in communicating and we managed to muddle through. We were hurried off to our room and only then realised that our passports had not been returned. We immediately went back to reception and retrieved them but this was a valuable lesson for 2 pilgrims probably more concerned with getting their credential (pilgrim's passport) stamped.||||Our room was compact and adequate. However, the double bed was not. It was quite compact as well and sagged badly so we ended up spending the night in a huddle in the middle. That said, our friends had a twin room next door and a good night's sleep. I also found the blankets scratchy and uncomfortable and ended up in my sleeping bag liner.||||The bathroom was showing its age but water was hot and the toilet worked so can't complain. ||||Our room was away from the busy street and faced into the other houses. The window had a shutter and so we weren't bothered by any noise.||||The hotel is only a few minutes walk away from the Plaza del Castillo with its restaurants and bars and you can then follow the famous bull run to the Plaza de Toros, a similar distance further on. Not having stayed in any other accommodation in Pamplona, I have no benchmark to compare this to but if location is a criteria, the Hostal...

Read moreNot bad, small simple rooms, the place was clean but a bit dated. Worked fantastic for us, as we were only looking for a clean, quiet and comfortable place to spend the night. This was quite an interesting experience, which reminded me of western movies where the saloon was downstairs and the rooms upstairs. Location is superb, however we arrived driving a rental from Madrid which we had to leave in a municipal parking garage, about a 7 - 8 minute walk away. As with most historic downtown cities in Europe, no cars are allowed. Once in the hostel you can walk nearly everywhere as you have all the important attractions nearby. I was sent however 1/2 block away to a similar building, but those rooms had no air conditioning. I returned to the "pub" (yes, the bartender is who checked us in and out) and after apologizing I was assigned another room, right in the floors above the restaurant. These ones do have A/C. You access the floors and rooms by a lateral stairway from the restaurant. Security is acceptable as you need the key to access the hostel area. Would recommend to...
