David Rodriguez Café - Pastelería — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

I've heard great things about David Rodrigues businesses, so as I tourist that comes quite often to Puerto I gave it a try. The place is beautiful, very cool ambience, but the 'good experience' ended once I decided to sit and (try) to order something:

They don't have wi-fi and the plaza europa doesn't cover very much 3G so my internet could not scan the QR, a 'fancy' and touristic place with no Wi-Fi? the waitress told me they don't have a printed version, How do I supposed to order?.... I felt I was unwanted on that place, very the opposite of Canarian people culture.

I succeed to order a coffee + sandwich that took over to 30 minutes and they forgot the bacon inside, the waitress just threw the plate on the table, no napkins or cutlery. Ok it was full of clients and it's not the waitress fault but the management that did not have enough stuff to deliver a decent service.

I paid 5 euros for a miserable service, food was nothing special, its insanely over priced. All the other pastelaria around would cost me 2 euros with a smile and...

Delicious croissants – both chocolate and pistachio are amazing. However, the service is absolutely terrible. I waited 20 minutes for my croissant. The same thing happened last year, which is why I stopped coming to this café. This year, it’s just as slow – 20 minutes to get a waiter, another 20 minutes for dessert. To make matters worse, there’s no English-speaking staff this time around.

The food? Delicious, no doubt. The service? Painfully slow. Will I come back to spend my time and money here? I’m not sure.

Oh, and they brought me water I never ordered and added it to the bill. I didn’t say “agua” or “water,” yet somehow, it appeared on my table and my receipt. Neither the cashier nor the waiter spoke English. I’m starting to think I should learn a fourth...

Extremely slow service. I just went there to the cash register and said which cakes I want, they asked me for here or to go, I answered "here", they said it's not possible to order at the cash register and I should order at the table, well OK. Than I waited for about 20 minutes (like whaaat? Why do I have to wait for so long if I could just take the cake myself at the very beginning and enjoy them after 1 minute), they bring me the coffee that I didn't order and said one of the cakes is out, but it was there when I came to the cash register and I could have taken it myself!! As the result, I had to waite for 20 minutes and then got nothing! Just a...
