We ate in lot's of different places during our stay in Puerto de la Cruz but Terraza Taoro was our best experience by far. It was lovely watching the sunset while eating delicious food. Our waiter Carlos was lovely too. We struggled to communicate with most staff in the restaurants around the town because we don't speak Spanish and not many people speak English in Puerto. So we were very happy that Carlos not only spoke English but was also very friendly and helpful. We've learned lot's of interesting facts from him. He recommended some great local red wine which we truly enjoyed. Been looking for some red wine from Tacoronte since we got back to England but no luck so far😄 At the end of the night we had cocktails which were great. Biggest daiquiri I've ever seen! I also tried some lovely Canarian coffee with liquor accompanied by a delicious carrot cake. All in all, food, service and atmosphere, everything...
Read moreWe ate here 4 times for lunch in our 1 week trip; staff are lovely, food was much better than we expected. We especially loved the super generous Padron Pepper portions, the Garlic Prawns were great with a portion of their bread, loved the Fried Cheese too. The steak starter wasn’t our favourite. They have a whole dessert cabinet, I had some lemon meringue and it was gorgeous. Pizza was also decent.
Stunning views, casual vibe, lovely staff, great value for money and huge portions.
My only suggestions to the owners would be to give it an update visually, it just needs some paint and a little makeover, otherwise we loved it all - also I think the menu should describe the starters in more detail, they were all much better than they were described so I think it does it...
Read moreLovely bistro style cafe with great views. Staff are super friendly and tables are spaced well apart. It is far from the noise and traffic below, a real haven of peace and calm. We have been on holiday in Peurto for 5 days so far and we will be heading back for our third visit tomorrow. The food ranges from snacks to large Canarian meals. The grilled cod in a tomato and pepper sauce is lovely as is the fried cheese, even our tennaged son likes it here. Many locals frequent this restaurant and that says it all really. It's worth a visit if you like good views, good service, good food and fair prices. It's not fancy,...
