I’ve been coming to Gran Canaria five times a year since 2018 and always looked forward to visiting this restaurant — it used to be one of my favorites. Unfortunately, my last two visits in May 2025 were very disappointing.
The staff has changed, and the service is no longer what it used to be. Very unfriendly and some are very rude staff now.
One of my favorite dishes has always been the Tuna Tartar, which I’ve regularly ordered with a side of soy sauce — never once was I charged for it in the past. This time, however, we ordered two Tuna Tartars and found a charge for soy sauce on the bill. When we asked why, we were told the chef had decided it should be paid for. After some discussion, they apologized and removed it from the bill.
Thinking it might have been a one-off, we returned the next day and again ordered the Tuna Tartar — this time, the soy sauce charge of €2.50 stayed. When we asked to see this listed on the menu, they couldn’t show it to us, nor were we informed in advance that it would be an extra cost.
It’s not about the money — it’s about the lack of transparency. If something costs extra, customers should be informed before ordering, not surprised on the bill.
🚨Be aware: you might also find extra charges for things like olive oil, vinegar, mayo, ketchup, or Parmesan cheese — none of which are listed on the menu. These could add €2.50 or even more...
Read moreWe went to the K1 yesterday - NOT doing that again! We got a nice table, nothing fancy. The menu look ok. I had a decent G&T. My girlfriend ordered a glass of sweet white wine. The wine was so dry it was impossible to drink. We ordered the Garlic Shrimp as a starter. They hadn’t removed the intestinal string which was full. They had burned the garlic leaving the dish to taste only of burned bitter garlic. For the mains, I had the BBQ Ribs. I know that you must have some fat on the ribs, but in this case the ratio was 80% fat, 10% bone and 10% meat. And the fat was more like blubber. It was disgusting. I ended up eating a few bites. My girlfriend had the burger. The meat had the consistency of cold porridge. It was bland and quite frankly disgusting. When the waiter asked if everything was ok, and we both answered NO, he just walked away. We ended paying and leaving - still hungry. My advice: Do Not Go There!
Oh, and by the way. My girlfriend has been throwing up all night. That might just have been from the waiter constantly...
