My wife and I were excited to try this restaurant based on the reviews we read. We looked forward to something besides standards tapas. Unfortunately Acento did not meet our expectations.

From the start the vibe was off. We got there a little early for standard Seville dinner (20:15) and were the only people in the restaurant. While the host did a great job explaining the menu, the vibe/ambiance of the place was off from the start.

They were playing club music and we found ourselves the only people in the restaurant numerous times when the bartender and host left the main room.

We tried giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and ordered a meal based on the host recommendations. When we tried the slow cooked eggs and mushroom though we realized this was not the place for us. My wife and I are huge food people (see my other reviews) and I love mushrooms, so for a mushroom dish to turn me off was surprising. The flavor was bland and the texture was slimy. After that I realized I really didn’t want to sit in the restaurant any longer.

The host was courteous enough to allow us to leave and just pay for our drinks and the appetizer. I wish I could write a better review, hope it was an off night, and wish the restaurant...

Por desgracia nuestra experiencia en este local fue desastrosa. No se de donde sacan 4.7 estrellas en Google, espero que no haya sido puntuado por gente afín al local. Comienzo: 1.- Reservamos a las 22:00 un sábado. Nos aceptan la reserva. Al poco de estar comiendo nos comentan que a las 22:30 cierran la cocina! Todavía estábamos mirando los vinos cuando nos dicen esto. 2.- Por teléfono nos indican que no hay problemas para celíacos. Al llegar vendo una carta muy limitada para celíacos de los cuales faltaban varios productos además. Nos vimos limitados básicamente a pedir todo lo que no tenía gluten. 3.- A las 22:31 pedimos ampliar un plato más viendo lo pequeño que eran los entrantes ( lo cual tampoco nos habían asesorado) y nos comentan que la cocina está cerrada. Vamos a pensar que se acogieron muy estrictamente a la norma. Venga, vamos a pasarlo 4.- Anchoas a 3.5 ridículas en tamaño sobre pan con tomate reseco. Tenía pinta de llevar preparado bastante tiempo. Nos comentan que no tienen pan para celíacos, lo cual fue una incongruencia con lo que nos dijeron por teléfono. Las anchoas sabían literalmente a 'sobaco' perdón por la expresión. 5.- Hueco a baja temperatura. Ridículo el tamaño. El huevo no estaba a baja temperatura, estaba crudísimo. 6.- Nos llegan de golpe y porrazo a la mesa tres platos que habíamos pedido: pulpo, lomo a la brasa y solomillo. Casi no caben los platos en la mesa. Nos quedamos atónitos. 7.- Pulpo durísimo. Aspecto chicloso. 8.- Cuando probamos la carne, nos llega aroma a Roquefort. Preguntamos al encargado del local si ha podido haber contaminación y nos comentan que no tienen queso azul en la cocina. Lo cual nos preocupa aún más. Volvemos a oler la carne y claramente estaba en mal estado con un olor intenso y rancio. Me imagino que en la respuesta a la critica dirán que si, que estaba bien y que les han felicitado otras veces. Insisto, NO HABIA DUDA de que estaba en mal estado.

Creo que este local debería replantearse bien que es lo que está ofreciendo a los clientes, porque ni por asomo y por seguridad alimentaria, no volvería a comer aquí.

PD Me tomo el lujo de contestar a su respuesta por aquí. Las anchoas no nos quejamos porque era el primer plato. Preferíamos ser pacientes. Pero estaban muy mal de sabor de manera objetiva. Si esas anchoas delgadisimas y finas con ese grosor son premium, las de Mercadona son las del Revilla. Si ustedes son expertos en restauración sabrán que lo que importa no es lo grande que sea la mesa, los platos hay que servirlos con un TIMING. No puedes traer todos los principales a la mesa a la vez todos. Es una norma basiquísima. Y la mesa no era tan grande, se sentía igualmente agob. H por otra parte respecto a la disponiblidad de platos celaicos a parte de comentarnos por teléfono que tenían pan celiaco y no era así. Respecto a la carne, y lo mala que estaba y olía (a queso azul) de he, va a ser su palabra contra la mía. Permítanme que dude respecto a si la probaron o respecto a sus papilas gustativas. La carne estaba claramente en mal estado estando de acuerdo laños 4 comensales que estuvimos allí. Agradezco su respuesta y su educación pero creo que no están haciendo horno a la verdad respecto a lo que...

After lunching at Acento last month during our brief visit to Seville, my wife left a review noting the limited vegetarian options, which, in fact, were lacking. Despite this, we had a generally satisfactory experience at the restaurant.

To our surprise, a family member later contacted us regarding an inappropriate and unprofessional response posted in Spanish, mentioning my wife’s name and referring to the review (attached in the image).

Such behavior is completely unacceptable for a restaurant of Acento’s standing. It is unethical for management to engage in these kinds of personal attacks. Furthermore, the business where the offensive comment was posted is not even affiliated with us.

I hope that the restaurant takes this situation seriously and imposes the appropriate corrective measures on the responsible party.

This might be one of the best restaurants I ever visited, hands down. Rather new place, but surely becoming a Seville top spot! Location is great, relaxing, good music, service is top, food is amazing. We were a large party, initially booked for 8, but gradually getting larger up to 20+! Vicente and the staff have been above and beyond in acommodating us, and made sure every single one of us had not only a good and relaxed time, but got to enjoy a great meal! The food is front and center, modern spanish/international, upscale eating but with affordable prices. All the compliments to the chef, carefully thought out dishes, masterfully prepared. All 23 of us absolutely loved the food, and between all of us we likely had half the menu! We had such a great time, Kudos to the whole Acento team!

For the price in Seville, I had higher expectations. The interior is nice and the service is good. The dishes are creative but lack a punch. The flavor of the tartare was completely over powered by mustard, and the pulpo was mediocre in flavor and texture. The potato/cheese it is served was unremarkable. The bread, butter, and oil are high quality. Perhaps my orders were of poor choice, but I think, for those who have eaten in cities with higher quality cuisine, they will rate this a low 4, as opposed to the high 4.7 that exists at the time of this review.

This might be one of the best restaurants I ever visited, hands down. Rather new place, but surely becoming a Seville top spot! Location is great, relaxing, good music, service is top, food is amazing. We were a large party, initially booked for 8, but gradually getting larger up to 20+! Vicente and the staff have been above and beyond in acommodating us, and made sure every single one of us had not only a good and relaxed time, but got to enjoy a great meal! For the price in Seville, I had higher expectations. The interior is nice and the service is good. The dishes are creative but lack a punch.
