1/5 Avoid
1 edible tapa, 1 stone cold, inedible tapa, rude staff, constant spray of water & 2 tinto de verano - €20.40.
Stopped here as we'd been told in Seville you stop, you eat a little and move on. Totally regret this stop. Where to start.
Firstly, from the moment we sat down, there was a constant spray of water in our faces, as the misting spray was pointed directly down at our table. We tried shifting seats, but the spray was unavoidable. It wasn't even that warm when we visited.
Next, we ordered two drinks and two tapa. Before we knew it, a waitress (different to the waiter who took our order) was at our table trying to deliver a tapa we didn't order. We tried to explain what we had ordered and were met with a nippy attitude. The waiter who took our order came over and retook our tapa order. It was extremely awkward and not welcoming at all.
A few minutes later, the waitress came back with another plate of tapa, again not what we ordered. Again we explained we had ordered a pork sandwich, not chicken, and she walked away. Back came a different waitress (possibly the manageress) who again tried to put the plate on our table. Again we tried to explain that wasn't what we ordered. The original waiter came back over. We explained our order again (the menu is literally numbered, so I'm not sure what was going wrong) and he said okay. We asked if we could actually just leave the food and just have our drinks but he said no, the food was on the way.
Our cod cakes arrived and to be fair were nice. Then, finally, our pork sandwich and chips - the chips were raw in the middle and the pork also cold in the centre (presumably not put in the microwave for long enough). We had one chip each and one bite of the sandwich and weren't comfortable eating any more.
At this point we were keen to leave, so we asked for the bill. Nothing came. We asked again. Nothing came. Third time lucky, we got our bill. We were charged in full for the dish we hadn't touched, and 3€ for a bread basket that again, we hadn't touched.
Keen to leave, we paid the bill and got out of there. But it left a bad taste in our mouths both literally and figuratively. If we were at home, we would have complained and sent the food back, but the rude staff and horrible atmosphere made us just want to get out of there pronto. Hence the lack of pictures.
Very disappointing and such a shame when there are bars serving amazing food nearby at 5 star standard and for...
Read moreOne of the worse experience in Seville for sure, and I'm not exaggerating by saying this was probably the worse since I've been travelling around the globe.
Waiters were clearly disorganised, with some of them returning food to the kitchen as this was not ordered.
But let's start from the beginning. We asked for a table outside, but none was available so we sat inside. The lady came to us after a while bringing the menu. Once again nobody speak English (even at that level to let you understand something), so we make our effort to understand Spanish.
Tempted by some tapas, but the price didn't seem proportionate. Eventually the lady proposed the menu of the day, so we asked for the dishes in it and for the price which the lady didn't know (so she ran outside to check for it). We ordered one of them as we were not really that hungry.
We've been delivered the main course before the starter, and - with no surprise - this was cold (probably it was laying in the kitchen since a while). I reported this to the waiter, expecting a new dish to be prepared, but with surprise the same one microwaved was returned. At that point I called the manager, and finally I was served a new hot portion.
Of course, you are expected to eat with cutlery that we haven't been brought till we asked along with some bread.
Ah, almost forgot. We had two sangria, which was from a drought.
Just to add some insult to the injury, at the time to pay, again a surprise. The bottle of water we've been brought was of 1L but we were charged for the one of 1.5L which cost almost the double. The price was rectified in the end.
Overall the food was edible, but as you can imagine I can't recommend this...
Read moreThe service we got was really bad. After getting seated by a hostess, nobody came to see us. After i got up and went to look for the waiters, i saw them in a corner talking and laughing. Told them i was ready to order, but they never came. Went a second time and found them again talking. Meanwhile, they went to serve other tables.
When we finally got a server, they took our order while looking done with it, not asking us how we would like the meat to be cooked. Even though he doesn’t speak english very well, he could’ve told us and we would’ve definetly found a way to understand each other. The wait was so long that we were so close to just getting up and leaving.
The food was okay, a bit bland. The croquettas were good but i received one that was burned. When they finally brought the meat, it was cooked rare. It was at that time that they asked if it was okay, but we prefered medium rare. They only recooked the meat, now making it well done, while the rest of the fries and vegetables had gone soft and cold. This could have been avoided if the waiter did his job and asked us while we were ordering. He could’ve even done it in spanish and i would have translated.
I don’t recommend this place for foreigners as they seem to not...
