A very bizarre experience! We turned up at around 8.00pm to an empty restaurant (which is very early for Seville to be fair) and were shown to a table. The menu was via a QR code on the table but unfortunately we couldn't use this due to network problems with our UK network provider. So we asked for the WiFi but was told 'no wifi' by our waiter. After about 10 mins the waiter managed to find some old hard copy menus so that we could order our food. We had a drink and ordered our food. About 10 mins after ordering our food the waiter came out and said the chefs don't start until 9.00. It would have been nice to have known this before we sat down and ordered our drinks and food but this wasn't mentioned at the time. We'd finished our first drink and the waiter passed our table a couple of times looking at our empty glasses but didn't ask if we were OK or wanted any more drinks. So we called him over. My wife asked for a glass of white wine but was told they only had sparkling or semi-sparkling (which she doesn't like). We thought it strange an expensive restaurant only has white wine that is sparkling or semi -sparkling. So my wife ordered a glass if Rioja. The waiter fetched and opened a new bottle and poured a small amount that she assumed was to taste and then walked away. As it happened this wasn't for tasting but turned out to be the whole measure! When the waiter next passed I said to him that this was a very small measure and he just said 'no'. I repeated the claim in case the waiter had misunderstood (all of our conversations were in Spanish because the waiter didn't speak English). Again he repeated 'no'; there was no offer to top up the glass, which we would have been happy to pay extra for. Our starters arrived and to be fair were very nice and good sized portions. We finished our starters and waited. After passing our table several times the waiter eventually noticed our empty plates and stopped. He took the bowls away that our food had come in but left our empty plates and cutlery. After another 10 mins or so a different waiter noticed our empty plates and took them away. By now it was around 10 o'clock, we had been ignored by our waiter (and indeed by the house manager who was close by) for most of the night and still there was no sign of our main courses. We were feeling a bit frustrated so decided to just go - putting down more than enough money to cover the drinks and starters we'd consumed as well as money for the main courses we'd not had. For a restaurant that isn't cheap we thought the service and experience was incredibly poor. There were no napkins on the table, no offers to bring out bread or olives while we were waiting for the kitchen to begin cooking and neither the waiter or house manager appeared to sense our growing bewilderment. As frequent visitors to Spain we have eaten out literally hundreds of times and this was by far our worst...

We had the misfortune to step into this establishment under the premise of a nice ambience and at least passable food. What we encountered was nothing of it. We had booked a spot in the main room in advance and were in the first seating of a Friday night. However, we got seated in the worst possible spot upon arrival (outside, next to the trafficated road).
Once seated, we weren't offered water but were offered bread (which we politely declined). That is despite waiters kept swarming like an uncoordinated swarm of bees. We ordered two glasses of red wine which were the equivalent of two sips (at best). Smallest and most expensive glasses we have been served in Sevilla (and we have been to fancier places in the city). The menu is about as interesting and refined as the Sunday edition of El Pais. So if you are looking for something thoughtful and remotely unique, this is not the place to hear your prayers. So halfway through the starter we made up our minds that happiness will never bless us in this place and decided to go elsewhere.
When the bill came, we were not only surprised to get charged for 2 servings of bread we didn't accept when offered but we were also very conveniently served the two most expensive glasses of red wine on the menu (side note: opened a new bottle and didn't even let us taste it). It goes without saying that if you don't specify, you get offered at best the medium option on the menu. So clearly this was just another way to suck more blood to their parasite headquarters.
Upon correction, the waiter simply said: "bread is our type of service charge. It's normal as it's an expensive restaurant." Up in arms, my Spanish speaking girlfriend corrected him that we had eating at far more expensive restaurants where this practice is not the norm. Although it is just EUR 4, the underlying intention of skimming customers is just something we are not used to. You don't consume, you don't pay! When was the last time you turned up at El Corte Ingles getting charged for something you didn't buy? It even took time to convince the waiter that this was in fact illegal...
All in all, very disappointing experience not just in terms of overall service malpractice but just simply no integrity. Like they tell people trespassing: keep out!!! I would not even send my dog to eat here and he eats just about everything...
Hope you enjoyed the honest review and I sincerely hope this restaurant finds another owner that is worthy of its premises. Happy...
Read moreUnfortunately we were very disappointed!!!! The food was unfortunately not good, we had the cannelloni and they were totally overcooked and mushy. The filling had a strange consistency and the flavour was not good at all. The Grandma style potatoes were soaked in oil and not crispy at all. The potatoes reminded me of oily chips (see photo). The other main course we had was the salmon and the portion was really incredibly small. I might have let it pass as a starter. The Aperol was incredibly bitter, no orange slice and not a nice presentation. The waiter was unfortunately also very hectic and chaotic. We always had to hope that he had listened properly this time and would bring us the right thing we had ordered. So the service was anything but good. Inside the rooms were very super cold due to the AC. So bring a jacket if you want to sit inside! Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The only nice thing was the great decoration and the...
