I am typically not one to leave negative reviews, but today we had one of the most comically terrible dining experiences of our lives here. Avoid this at all costs. Some of the litany of issues we had were: Did not receive any food - even bread! - until almost an hour after arrival. After 90 minutes, we had still not received two of the five dishes we ordered. At this point we left - would we have ever gotten them? While we were waiting, a table near us got literally 10-15 different dishes served, including ones they ordered 30+ minutes after we had The bathroom was so disgusting one of our friends held it for an hour rather than brave it They have the single worst tacos any of us have ever had - and served them with stale Doritos Were incapable of even getting us the check in a timely manner
At this point we are just hoping none of us get food poisoning, and that others may see this review and have a better lunch somewhere else -...
Read moreDo yourself a favour. This small, unremarkable-looking restaurant-bar just near the Golden Tower on the Guadalquivir river has wonderful food (tapas) and friendly, professional service from the barman-cook-cleaner-manager. We had his grandmother's pork-cheeks ("carillada", in a middle eastern sauce of raisins, pine-nuts & red-wine finished with sherry): a succulent delight. The pan-fried baby squid was fresh, soft and delicious. The salmorejo (cold soup; more-or-less gazpacho with olive oil minus the cucumber) a mouth-full of silken pleasure. We also had a melting tuna tataki (barely-seared with grated soy-cabbage on the side) and a herb-lemon salmon tartare. To drink (on the manager's recommendation) a superb, not-too-sweet, dark and refreshing rosé from the Madrid region. To finish, tart and Pedro-Jiminez. (Full-disclosure: the digestif was a gift). Overall: Wow! Really. And the bill was almost as pleasant a surprise as finding this tiny...
Read moreI wanted to give a chance, but that was not a good decision... When I try a restaurant, I try first their daily menu. So, the service was poor. Before I sat down, the waiter wanted me to tell him what I was gonna have. When I sat down, the table was not clean. I asked for a placemat, but then he sent me to another table that was already set. Then he brought two bottles of vinegar for my salad. He didn't apologize. The vegetables was from the can. And the main dish, "carne con tomate" was small and more potatoes than meat, with can tomato sauce. The price of the menu was €12.90. The restaurant next to this cost one more euro but you would have a proper service and a better food, plus nicer atmosphere. Now I am sorry to have given a chance to this place... Somehow I finished my lunch because I had to go for work, but this is what you get because they assume you're an ignorant tourist... Yep, they're so wrong...
