Stepping into Sibuya Sushi Bar in Seville, Spain, I immediately felt transported into the heart of Tokyo. The atmosphere radiated a welcoming aura, setting the stage for a memorable culinary experience. However, the true magic of Sibuya unfolded as I delved into their menu.
The sushi was undeniably the star of the show. Each piece was a testament to the skilled chefs' precision and commitment to preserving the art of sushi-making. The fish was fresh, its natural flavors shining through, and the rice was perfectly seasoned and cooked, embodying that ideal balance that sushi connoisseurs yearn for. Each bite was a celebration, a fusion of taste and texture that left an impression.
But the culinary prowess of Sibuya was not confined to sushi alone. The noodles I ordered were simply delightful. Cooked to perfection, maintaining an ideal firmness that was neither too soft nor too hard, they were a pleasure to savor. The sauce was the perfect companion – a harmonious blend of umami, sweet, and savory flavors that elevated the dish to a whole new level.
Then came the mochi. This traditional Japanese dessert was a revelation in its own right. The mochi was incredibly tender, offering a subtle sweetness that was perfectly offset by the fresh jam topping. Each bite was a sweet journey into the heart of Japanese dessert culture.
What rounded off this exquisite meal was the Japanese green tea. Brewed with an evident understanding of the delicate balance required, the tea was a soothing end to the meal, echoing the authenticity I had experienced throughout.
In summary, Sibuya Sushi Bar is a culinary gem in the heart of Seville. It's a place where tradition meets innovation, creating an unforgettable dining experience. The authenticity, quality, and attention to detail were exemplary, making my visit an absolute delight. It was a taste of Japan in Spain, a culinary journey I will undoubtedly...
Read moreSuch a delightful meal, with a great selection of sushi and sides.
Service was fab. We arrived without a booking and the floor manager was able to work his magic and find us a seat in their fully booked evening. Table service was on point, friendly staff willing to help explain the dishes all with a smile.
Food was delicious. We (party of 4) ordered the freestyle dish, niguiri lovers special, seaweed salad, takoyaki octopus balls and accidentally ordered the 'i return the salad'... All of which were great. The takoyaki were done perfectly fluffy and with well balanced sauce and complete with the fish flakes, the niguiri have a nice mix of different flavours and seafood (prawn, unagi, salmon, tuna and butterfish). The freestyle dish was a perfect variety, taster of all different styles and the seaweed salad competed the meal nicely. The other 'i return the salad' dish was a very pleasant surprise, refreshing after the many rich flavours of Spanish tapas.
The only very minor downside was, we weren't able to top up or teapots with hot water - which is so strange, and feels like such a water given the tea was so fragrant. At least serve in bigger teapots if refills are not allowed.
Aside from that, I would definitely recommend, but be sure to book ahead, as there were also people outside waiting for a table as we left. One of the better Japanese restaurants I've visited at this price range on this side of Europe. Reasonably priced and good...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We had a reservation at 8:15 PM and it’s now 9:15 PM and we STILL don’t have our food. Absolutely unacceptable. From the moment we walked in, the service was a complete disaster. We waited 30 minutes without even being given a menu—not even water. When I politely asked for menus, the staff said someone would come, then another 15 minutes passed and no one showed up. I had to ask AGAIN, and this time they handed us the menus with an attitude—rude and dismissive.
Then we were left sitting there, completely ignored, for another 20 minutes. When someone finally came to take our order, they couldn’t have been more unpleasant. No apology, no smile, just rude and cold. How this place even has decent reviews is beyond me.
It’s clear this restaurant doesn’t care about customers, let alone honoring a reservation or offering basic decency. The vibe is unprofessional and chaotic, and frankly, it ruined our night. I wouldn’t come back here if it was the last sushi place on earth.
Save yourself the time, the money, and the frustration—go literally anywhere else. The name of the...
