Tarambana is like being invited into a Sevillano family home for a meal. So much so that all the waiting staff call the matriarch in the kitchen Mami. We were surprised and asked our waitress Adriana. Adriana told us that we call her Mami because she is like a mother to all of us. We had our first meal in Sevilla here, and on our last day we came back again to taste the delights of Tarambana. The stand-out dishes were the cod risotto and the rack of ribs. The risotto was a richly balanced delight that played with the cheesy texture of the rice and the playfully tangy green salsa that came with it. The pork shoulder is as generous as it is delicious. Pure meateaters’ heaven. We were also introduced to Tinto de Verano, the red summer drink. It is red wine with lemon soda. Perfect if you can’t decide between wine and soda. The house wine was Protos. A beautifully balanced dry white from the area. We also tried the local sherry called Manzanilla. The menu calls it a generous glass of white wine. Generous it is. Generous describes the Tarambana experience as a whole. A big thank you to Adriana and her colleagues for taking such...
Read moreStopping in on a hot Sunday evening, it was refreshing to finally eat something worth its price. From the time we were greeted off of the sidewalk until we left, the service was impeccable. We were given free olives and offered a free cocktail at the end of our dinner. The wait staff was polite and attentive, ensuring finished plates were removed and checking in to see if the food was to our liking. We ordered 5 dishes, 4 tapas and 1 plate. We had the anchovies and toast, patatas bravas, swordfish sticks, pork loin with jamon and whiskey sauce, and the fried dogfish. The portions were generous, with each including a protein, carb and vegetable. To our pleasant surprise, all of the food was freshly cooked/fried rather than microwaved. It was also well seasoned and balanced with fats and acids. For a reasonably priced, fresh dinner, I would highly...
Read moreMy partner and I shared 4 tapas - anchovies, swordfish sticks, patatas bravas, and pork loin with jamón, cheese, and whiskey sauce. We ended our meal with a full portion of dogfish. It seemed as though each dish was better than the last. Balancing of flavours were perfect as they let the main star of the dish shine. Food was super fresh as well. The plates were brought out in a timely manner and were presented nicely. The breading on the swordfish and dogfish were very light and seasoned, overall I’d say the portions were generous for the price. Most of all, the experience was made even better by the very friendly, helpful, and genuinely sweet wait staff. I couldn’t...
