Unless you (or you know someone who does) suffer from anosmia, then this review might not make much sense. But, anyway, I stumbled across this place just over two years ago when I was in Torrevieja with my wife and we came in here to eat because the place we were intending to eat at was closed. I can't remember what my wife had - but I will never forget what I had. Garlic prawns. And I was close to tears. For those that don't know, anosmia is a loss of the sense of smell, but it also affects how I can taste. Those prawns - or what made up the dish - gave me an experience most people can take for granted. While I probably didn't experience it in the way "normal" people do, this was one of those rare occasions when I experienced more than just sweet or sour, and I didn't just need the texture of what I was eating to tell me whether I was enjoying it. Obviously I've had garlic prawns elsewhere. Some have had a similar effect. Some haven't. But since that day, whenever I'm in Torrevieja, be it for a day at the beach or to get the bus to the airport, I always visit here. I always have the garlic prawns. And they...
Read moreThe staff have lost there attention to detail , not attentive and really couldn’t care less about customers satisfaction , deafness springs to mind and should therefore listen when a client is giving there food order - Dealing with constructive criticism or even making a complaint is a NO NO as all one gets is a SORRY - well it’s not good enough chaps. I paid €80 euros for not nice tasting steaks (wouldn’t mind if they were cooked to our liking as the waiter that’s being there a long time messed it up - Shame on him !!!) - Sadly for ROMA my family used to eat there on a very regular basis but from the treatment I received this Friday evening , never again. Even my Guest from local Food Reviews office was indeed shocked by the treatment. Really...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst meal I've ever had placed in front of me. Started with Foccacia with marinated onions and cheese. The foccacia was soggy in places, the only thing I can imagine the onions had been marinated in was the dish washing water, sprinkled with a miniscule amount of tasteless cheese. Next up was the house Lasagne, bland and unappetising, no beef ragu sauce here, just slices of ham?, and a few pieces of corn layered between some pasta and a watery tomato sauce. Two mouthfuls in I gave up, asked for something to replace it but was refused. Still hungry I ordered the carrot cake for dessert, take a magnifying glass, the average tasting portion was minute. Total waste of time and money, definitely won't...
