The worst gastronomic experience in Valencia so far. We could sit only on terrace. Plates at the table were chipped. The waiter wasn’t very attentive and didn’t let us to sit at the table we choose, because it was “only for drinks” he said. 10 minutes later two girls came and he let them sit there, even though they were ordering food as well. We were waiting for tapas very long time. FATTOUCH SALAD we ordered had a cherry tomato covered with mold. Sweet potato fries were rather good and fried fish treats were over fried so calamari and squids were like rubber. Nobody has bothered to take away empty glass or plates, so another long waiting for the bill. At the end we met the cook dressed in apron “visiting” guest toilets, which is just the most unhygienic thing I saw at any restaurant. Considering how good were other places we visited in Valencia, La Calita is absolute disappointment.

Enhorabuena!

La Calita is a very cozy mediterranean restaurant located in a quiet area in the centre. The atmosphere both inside and outside calls for a romantic dinner or lunch or simply to enjoy a meal in tranquil and beautiful surroundings. The service is good and the food is very good. I tried their burger, and although everything else appeared special, there was nothing special about the burger. But why order a burger at a restaurant that offer delicious Mediterranean food... The place sells itself on its location, decor and atmosphere alone.

I don't usually make reviews, and when I do it's usually a good review, but this place hasn't got it at all. The food isn't bad, isn't great it's average for the quality expected for the price. But the service, is a complete failure. I believe the core reason is understaffing and lack of both loyal customers and workers.

I have already talked to the "chief waiter" and I told him I can give you my critiques directly in person eye to eye, and I did, but he refuted it, and he believes he isn't wrong and we are wrong.. So for the sake of the owners and other guests, I leave this here.

Directly to the restaurant: When the customer tells you your tables are unstable, falling apart and we can't eat on them and we want to switch, you shouldn't try to convince us that we are wrong, instead just respectfully silently change the tables and not talk back to the guest. No? Then, when we change the table you shouldn't keep our food on thr previous table, and keep our food alone. Super rude, very low.

When then customer finishes ordering, you shouldn't command the guest to hand you the menus from the table that's literally in your reach. Are we at your service or other way around? Again, poor manners.

Lastly, and the worst experience, when I ask a food that's well known (patatas brevas), which 99% isn't made with pork, then I tell you to change it to without pork, you don't come out and make a scene about it like a child. He even took the menu from another guests hand!, started shouting and showing me the menu writen in small letters it's with pork, acting out like a child. It was so embarrassing. The he starts arguing and calling me "dude". Never in my life have I seen anywhere such waiter service. He needs lessons in waiter customer service, and actually basic manners. I talked to him calmly after I paid,...

Great location, great environment, but the food was a too bad. (I am chef). Burrata salad was without salt, fettucine with truffle was TOO BAD, not flavour at all. We had to put salt to everything and this is not normal in a restaurant.

In addition, we order some beers and all of them were warm. One seat did not have cutlery even with the starter in the table (we had reservation since one month ago).

Desserts were the only good thing. Good tiramisu and cheesecake.

One waitress (black hair) was very rude and disrespectful, being sarcastic and seems like she did not like to do this job. We asked her to split the account and she told us that “was not possible” (the table next to us were our family also and they could split it) , when we ask for the manager she said “I am the manager” and was very clear that she is not the manager because she did not know even what they are selling in the menu.

Of course we are not...
