The octopus with potato sauce was spectacular. It was the most tender one I’d ever tasted, and I liked the fact that it wasn’t swimming in too much oil. The sauce was creamy but light in texture, and it complimented the octopus very well! Croquettes (cod and ham) were also delicious. Some of us prefer meat, and they also enjoyed their steaks so much. Another friend loved his fresh red tuna.
We throughly enjoyed our (late) lunch, but a downside was that the service was a bit slow at the beginning. I also felt rushed to order by a waiter when I kindly asked for recommendations.
Plus, when I went in around 14:30 to secure a table, I was told that they had already run out of rice. A small disappointment that we couldn’t get a paella, and I think they should’ve expected more in the first place as it was the last day of Mascletà. When we were about to leave, we saw some tables getting paellas, and I felt we received an unfair treatment. They might’ve booked it in advance? That was questionable. But in the end, other seafood dishes were amazing, and last but not least, the bar lady was really kind when I entered :) So, all in all I would...
Read moreWalked in to an empty restaurant during lunch time. 4 tables outside were filled. Was wondering why. Just bad vibes in the restaurant service wise. Ordered a paella but decided to cancel. The person who claims to be the owner/manager was condescending in his tone and even came to the table to scold and debate if I was going to give one star to his restaurant on Google cos I cancelled my order. i have not even given my review yet. He also said I need to respect him and his restaurant. The problem is the fact that the owner/manager came to confront me was already not showing me respect. He could have asked what was the problem and how he can maybe improve. Food I did not try so no comments. But service and vibes maybe not.
To the owner/manager: totally respect your business and Tks...
Read moreFirst time in Valencia, wanted to try the paella. Passed by Sabor del Mar and returned after thinking it looked better than the other options. Ordered a Paella Valenciana among other things and all very good. However, we had difficulty with one waiter who was moving too fast and clumsily pushing things around on the table, creating chaos, culminating in him knocking over and breaking a wine glass still part full - the whole table stopped. When he presented la cuenta, I asked for compensation and he was totally ungracious and said the glass was empty and that he has twenty years experience. I said all you had to do was say sorry and offer to deduct €5. Finally he did but kept arguing and being defensive. Wouldn’t even let me say anything. Bad ending to an otherwise...
