Apotheke — Restaurant in Valencia

We came here after nearly 6 months of trying to come here. We where both excited to experience our first speak easy and have been wanting to come to this establishment for a while.

So arriving to this place I recommend booking in advanced. I booked a week in advanced for safety but I'm sure you can book earlier. The experience starts at the door as you are provided with a password to enter. We came in and Instantly our senses where hit with smells of ambiance. A great detail. We sat down and tried a multitude of drinks. Myself being a fan I had to try as many as I could so I ordered their sake sour (refreshing and funny narrative), the negroni (strong, I enjoyed the sweetness with mezcal) and I asked them for a classic cocktail what they very kindly provided.

Excellent service, lovely vibes I love that the bar is higher than the chairs focusing more attention to the place rather than the bar. Only thing I'd say is that there was times staff where not in eyesight, they might have been having early dinner or late lunch. My only pitpick however the gentleman that kindly provided attention to us: Fernando was incredibly professional to us both and kind and attentive. The star of the show for us tonight

We were genuinely looking forward to our visit to Apotheke. The ambiance was great, and the cocktails were outstanding. Unfortunately, the experience was seriously compromised by what was clearly a case of food poisoning.

I ordered the oyster trio and a dry martini, featured prominently on the front of the menu as a signature pairing. I was the only one in our group who had the oysters and the only one who became ill. Another person with me ate the same food all day except the oysters and did not experience any symptoms.

Within hours, I developed acute gastrointestinal symptoms consistent with Vibrio infection, a serious bacterial illness commonly linked to raw oysters. The illness severely impacted my health and disrupted the rest of our vacation.

I contacted Apotheke by email at noon the day after to report the situation, but I received no reply, which is very concerning.

This is not just disappointing, it’s dangerous. A venue that promotes raw oysters as a signature item must take food safety seriously. That includes proper handling, sourcing, and above all, accountability when something goes wrong.

Cocktail bar near me: This speakeasy in Valencia was a great surprise. I had heard about the place and decided to check it out, and honestly, the experience was amazing. From the moment you walk in, you're wrapped in a special atmosphere, almost like being transported back to the 1920s. The décor is elegant and cozy, perfect for a unique night out.

The service was impeccable. The bartenders explain every cocktail in detail, and you can tell they really know their craft. I ordered the Sake Sour, which caught my eye on the menu, and it did not disappoint. It's a cocktail that combines Japanese sake with Fino Tío Pepe, bergamot liqueur, and a touch of olive oil infused with apple. The most surprising part was the edible toffee sponge on top – a very original and delicious touch!

The Sake Sour was a complete experience. It's a perfectly balanced cocktail that blends the best of Japan and the Mediterranean. This place has definitely become one of my favorites in Valencia. If you're looking for a great cocktail bar in the city, this speakeasy is...
