The dishes/food are not worth the money you pay. Not recommended. Also, there's a misleading trick they are playing...BYOB is only allowed on Fridays. Poor management and disappointing experience. 😥

Thank you for your detailed response. I appreciate your openness and would like to share my perspective point by point:
Food & Pricing: While I understand the menu is curated for variety and quality, I personally felt the portions were quite small for the prices charged. The quantity did not meet expectations, especially considering the premium cost. When compared with top-tier restaurants in Colombo offering better portion sizes and overall value, I honestly wouldn’t recommend your food at that price point. To me, it simply didn’t feel worth what I paid.
BYOB Policy: Thank you for clarifying that it's a Friday-only offer. However, I’d like to mention how the whole situation unfolded at our table. A person who introduced himself as the manager approached us, and the way the conversation escalated turned into an unexpected drama. I choose not to go into full detail here out of respect, as I don’t want to personally affect anyone... but I hope you understand that the way it was handled left a negative impression.
Management: As mentioned in the BYOB section above, how that situation was managed reflects directly on overall management standards. Frankly, it was a bit hilarious and disappointing at the same time. I truly believe customer service and professionalism should never be compromised, even when misunderstandings arise.
Thank you again for taking my feedback seriously. My intention is not to criticize for the sake of it, but to provide honest insights that might help improve the experience for others. I do hope things improve and wish you all the best going forward....
But anyway, I do not recommend this place to anyone...
Read moreWas definitely not impressed with the food served here at Chill Colombo, this restaurant has disguised itself as an establishment that serves something remarkable. The decor, the menu and service all seem high quality but if a restaurant falls flat with how the food tastes then it really doesn't matter how any of the above appear.
The atmosphere is lovely, I was blown away by the interior. Whoever designed the restaurant must've enjoyed this project. Everything just felt chic, elegant, modern, cosy, comfortable...it really had it all. I could've stayed there for hours I really felt at home.
The service was good. To be fair there are practically zero customers to serve, so the waiters aren't exactly rushed off their feet. They are attentive and friendly, polite and helpful. My only problem was that I was asked too many times whether or not I was enjoying my food and it seemed like a formality rather than actual interest.
The menu Seemed amazing. Some great dishes and combinations, some things that you wouldn't find elsewhere in Sri Lanka. I was really looking forward to ordering our food and drinks.
And that's where the positives end. The panache and flair falls flat when it comes to the flavour of the food. Which really bugs me, because why go through all of the effort of making a restaurant look good if you're not going to bother about how the food tastes?
The presentation of the food is lovely and thought out but it all feels like chewing on cardboard once you dig in. Even the complimentary bread sticks are bland. You're given tiny portions of dip and the dip I can only describe as green coloured oxygen.
Would I go again? Maybe. I really love the interior. Its such a nice place to unwind. I ended up having a really long conversation with my partner, deep in conversation and felt comfortable enough to do so. But we could've sat down outside a pastry shop and it would've been the same.
I'm not going to suggest paying for...

Starting with the entrance, leading to the lobby it gives a very classy vibe and the atmosphere is just great. One small issue there was was the kitchen area is in the opposite side of the same room and occasionally smoke leaks into the dining floor. Not much of an issue for some but some might be a bit sensitive to such smoke.
Moving on upstairs, the area is a bit more open than the bottom and there is also a dessert bar up top. The bottom floor is dark and has a very classy and romantic vibe and the top has a more cheery and down-to-earth vibe.
The food, is just great. We had a beef Fried Rice which is exactly what that is - a no nonsense beef Fried Rice. Nothing too fancy but the attention to culinary detail is exquisite. The beef is of good quality (grade) and is softened prior to frying, the simple yet tasty ingredients and combination of light spices give it an additional layer of attractiveness. The fried curry leaves and onions together with peanuts gives this dish the perfect finishing touches that does not hold back on taste. And after all this, the star of the show is definitely going to be that killer chillie paste - it's hot but it's sweet and saucy and does a great job punching the flavours of the fried rice. Hats off to the chef/s responsible for this dish.
Then the desserts. They are made in-house and i thought that was quite lovely. The balls of coffee ice-cream with a heavy water and of course the teardrops of heavy cream is just amazing. The plain ice cream itself is not "plain" per say but it's a work of a master to get that fine blend right.
Overall, this is a great restaurant to be in and the food is something that will...
