I recently had the pleasure of dining at Harbour Court Restaurant in the Kingsbury Hotel for a lunch outing with friends, and I must say, the experience exceeded our expectations in every way.

From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the elegant and inviting atmosphere. The decor is tasteful, with a sophisticated blend of modern and classic elements that create a warm and relaxing environment. The large windows allow plenty of natural light, which only enhances the dining experience. Whether you're seated near the windows or further inside, the ambiance is perfect for both casual gatherings and more formal occasions.

The service at Harbour Court is impeccable. The staff was attentive, professional, and friendly without being intrusive. From the moment we were seated, we felt well taken care of. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations that suited our diverse tastes. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, we never felt rushed, and our meals were served promptly.

The highlight of our visit was, of course, the food. The menu at Harbour Court offers a wide range of options, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. We started with a selection of appetizers, including the fresh seafood platter, which was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. The mains were equally impressive; I opted for the grilled salmon, which was cooked to perfection—moist, flaky, and bursting with flavor. My friends tried the steak, pasta, and a vegetarian dish, and everyone was delighted with their choices. The portions were generous, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite.

We couldn't resist trying the dessert menu, and we were glad we did. The chocolate fondant and cheesecake were particular standouts, offering the perfect sweet finish to our meal. The drink selection is also noteworthy, with a good variety of wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options to complement the meal.

Considering the quality of the food, the excellent service, and the luxurious setting, Harbour Court offers great value for money. It's not the cheapest option, but it's worth every penny for the experience.

We visited The Harbour Court – The Kingsbury on 31st August 2025 to celebrate our engagement, but sadly the service experience completely ruined our evening. Our reservation was for 6:30 PM, and we arrived around 6:45–7:00 PM. Despite booking nearly a week in advance and specifically requesting a table near the glass wall with a city view, the table given to us was not ready. It was piled with napkins, the cutlery was not set, and my family was left standing awkwardly while staff tried to arrange it. Asking guests to wait for a table to be set after arrival was very unprofessional and disappointing.

When we requested to merge tables in another corner, the assistance given was slow and not attentive. Even more concerning, the supervisor/assistant manager (a man in full uniform, darker skin tone) rushed to take a beverage order while we were still standing. Once we asked him to wait until we were seated and relaxed, no one returned. Eventually, I had to go to the service station myself to ask for drinks. At no point did we feel cared for as guests, despite this being a five-star hotel.

This was especially upsetting as it was our engagement celebration with family. Instead of enjoying the evening, we were stressed and distracted by the lack of proper service. It ruined the atmosphere so much that we even forgot to take a single photo of our occasion, which we deeply regret.

On the positive side, the buffet and food quality were outstanding. The variety, live cooking stations, and flavors were excellent especially the hopper station with Sri Lankan condiments, which was absolutely delicious. The culinary team deserves credit.

Unfortunately, no matter how good the food was, the service failures overshadowed everything. For such a special day, and at a hotel of this reputation, the experience was far below expectations.

I truly hope the management takes this feedback positively. Guests choose The Kingsbury for their most memorable occasions, and with the outstanding food you already provide, improving the service experience would make it truly five-star. Kingsbury hotel offers you the dinner buffet from Monday to Thursday from 6:30pm to 11:00pm and there are two seating from Friday to Saturday (1st sitting - 6:30pm-9:00, 2nd seating - 9:30pm -11:00pm)

Before you decide to go, you may consider below bitter experiences that experienced by us.⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

This is advertised as a stationed buffet but we experienced it as a simple buffet where we have to find some staff member to get a glass of mild water and most of the time, we had to clean our table by ourselves to prepare for our next dish after looking and waiting for a staff member😤🤮. However, it seems like the staff members are serving well for their regular customers and larger groups like family dinners😒. In my experience and my personal opinion, in the hospitality industry, the customer is the king and, each and every customer should be treated as same and as 1st priority🥺. But we couldn't see that from this staff on that day. The receptionist only could show us a pleasant face only during our check out.😂 You can't expect beverages from this buffet and those are charged separately. In overall, these moody and negligent expressions made us very uncomfortable at the beginning and it also killed our apatite on the day marking this dinner buffet and the hotel into our "Never Go Again" list.

So, if you're simply ok with these issues, these are the benefits you may get from this dinner buffet.😊 Good things from this buffet,💯 The chefs are doing a great job since you can have a large variety food range with mouthwatering taste👏. You can experience the cousins like Japanese, Indian, Sri Lankan and international. The seafood and meat items were great.
