Terrible Experience – Overpriced, Rude Staff, and Misleading Policies

Our visit to Honey Beach Club in Colombo was an absolute disappointment. As a family of two adults and two young children, we went there for lunch and a few hours of swimming before our flight. What should have been a relaxing experience turned into a frustrating ordeal due to unclear policies, overcharging, and rude staff.

When we arrived, we ordered two main dishes, one starter, and drinks. However, we were then told that to use the pool, we had to order a specific Day Visitor package—one starter, one main course, and one dessert per person—at 6,500 LKR each. What they didn’t tell us upfront was that the food we had already ordered wasn’t included in this package, and we couldn’t cancel our original order even though the food took one and a half hours to arrive! By the time the food finally came, we barely had time to eat before heading to the airport, meaning we couldn’t even have the dessert that we were forced to pay for.

On top of this, the staff were shockingly rude. We ordered a cheeseburger for one of our children, specifically asking for it to be plain—just cheese, meat, and bread. When it arrived, it had mayonnaise spread all over both buns. When we pointed it out, the waiter laughed and said, “Oh well, this is how it is,” and refused to fix it. No apology, no replacement—just complete disregard.

The food itself was subpar. The pizza that the waiter recommended was easily the worst we had in our two weeks in Sri Lanka—undercooked, doughy, and far too salty. And this was just a basic Margherita pizza! We are not picky eaters, but it was nearly inedible.

To make matters worse, the final bill was much higher than expected because they tacked on additional charges and taxes that were not clearly explained at the beginning. The overall experience felt like a scam—misleading pricing, slow service, rude staff, and low-quality food.

The only positive part of our visit was the friendly and cheerful staff in front of the hotel who helped us park our vehicle. They were genuinely kind and welcoming—a breath of fresh air in an otherwise frustrating experience.

I do not recommend Honey Beach Club to anyone. Avoid this place unless you want to be overcharged, disrespected, and served...

Oh Honey what a disaster...

Went there to celebrate a nice dinner with my husband for our 3rd year anniversary, we ordered the combo platter, which was supposed to have stuffed jalapenos ( which were capsicum when it came to our table - ok fine we were ok with that), baked potatoes with bacon and cheese, onion rings, fried prawns and chicken wings and it's was all 3900++ - big mistake! We waited one hour and a half for the order to come through ( yes we asked a couple of the servers many times what's happening with our order), and when it FINALLY came it was cold and quite small despite mentioning in the menu that it was a portion for 2 people. Everything was soaked in oil, the stuffed chillies were literally dripping in oil, and the fried coating over it was just slipping off, while we were expecting the baked potatoes to be at least half of one potato ( for each of us), what we got were 3 small tiny piece , sprinkled with a pinch of what looked like cheese but didn't taste like it and a few tiny microscopic pieces of what we assumed were bacon, because it said so in the menu. The chicken wings were fried to the point you could throw it at someone with the intention of injuring them- because it will, that's how rock hard it was. The 4 small onion rings, were basically the peel of the onion coated in flour and fried, flavourless and quite frankly gross. The fried prawns were so flavourless it was sad. So don't go there if you want to eat a satisfying meal they will rob you off your money. Go there if you want to get piss drunk and have no issues eating anything gross for an insanely unreasonable price. The music was great though. That's about it. We did talk to manager after getting the order, but honestly by that time our entire dinner date was ruined. I will never step into that ghastly place even by accident. And will work actively to discourage anyone I know from ever going there for anything. Just the other day I stopped my group of friends who came from Australia from having their class get-together there, just by showing the images, I did the same for my aunt who was going to have her 60th birthday dinner there with our whole family, my husband and I will keep warning people every...

I recently visited Honey Beach Club with a couple of friends, and while we enjoyed the delicious food, I must say we had a disappointing experience. The restaurant's ambiance was lively and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a night out.

We started off with some tasty beer and a scrumptious pizza, with the margarita pizza standing out as my personal favorite. The food quality was top-notch, and we were even fortunate to be there during the happy hour, which meant a fantastic deal of "buy 1 get 1 free" on beers. Needless to say, we took advantage of that and ended up with extra beer pitchers!

However, the disappointment crept in when we decided to try their gin shots. After downing three shots in one go, we realized that there was a problem – no gin! The glasses contained nothing more than water. This turned what should have been a fun moment into a letdown.

While we did bring this issue to the attention of the waiter, who was apologetic and understanding, the way it was handled by the management left us quite dissatisfied. The waiter conveyed our concern to the manager, but unfortunately, the manager refused to rectify the situation. Despite the waiter's efforts to make amends, it seemed that no other manager on duty was concerned about our experience.

In terms of food and ambiance, "Honey Beach Club" definitely has a lot to offer. The beer and pizza were delightful, and the overall atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening with friends. However, the lack of accountability and response from the management regarding the gin shots was disheartening. As customers, we value not only the quality of the food and drinks but also the level of service and care we receive.

While the food and atmosphere warrant a positive mention, the mishandling of our experience ultimately overshadowed the positives of the evening. It's my hope that the management takes such feedback seriously in the future, as it truly impacts the overall impression customers take away from...

Kingsbury is always being one my favorite place to visit celebrate whenever there is a special celebration in my life. So for the first time I decided to experience honey beach and I called them on Friday saying that I will visit on Saturday and I need to book a seating. They helped me well over the phone and explained their happy hours and food etc. so I told ok great please reserve a seating and I mentioned the exact place I want to reserve. (Sofa area) On Saturday I went with my friends and n met the manager and asked me to guide to the place I reserved. My seating was occupied with two people other people and all the sofa area seatings were occupied as well. I was full upset and they showed me somewhere to sit. Then the manager came to me n showed that the person who got my details over the phone have not mentioned that I need the sofa area. Ok I had to enjoy the meal with my bad mood thinking all the time that I will not come again or recommend anyone. Food arrived: I like the taste of food so it has calmed my mind but still the place where we sit was little bit uncomfortable so couldn’t enjoy well. If you do no like the wind then honey beach will not be a place to visit. (I enjoyed the wind) My advice is if you are reserving a table in honey beach please call and confirm whether the reserved place is there. I haven’t gave such an issue in their other restaurants in Kingsbury.
