We recently spent 3 nights at Hilton Colombo Residencies and were truly impressed—not just by the location and facilities, but by the outstanding service that made our stay feel extra special.||Our stay began on what we were told was an exceptionally busy day, with the hotel at 97% occupancy and over 60+ check-ins that day! Despite the hustle, Travene, the reception staff greeted us with a cheerful smile and calm professionalism that immediately put us at ease. His warm welcome, clear instructions, and seamless coordination—from the digital key access setup to arranging porter service for our bags—made the check-in process smooth and pleasant.||We had the pleasure of seeing Travene multiple times during our stay, and he always made a point to check in with us—asking if we needed anything and ensuring we were comfortable. That level of genuine hospitality, especially during such a busy period, speaks volumes of his professionalism and the Sri Lankan warmth that Hilton embodies.||A special mention also goes to Indika, our room service attendant, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. From extra amenities to timely room cleaning, his efficiency and friendliness did not go unnoticed. Thank you, Indika, for making our stay even more comfortable!||We stayed in a three-bedroom apartment on the 16th floor, and the view was spectacular—a sweeping panorama of Colombo city and the Lotus Tower in the distance. The apartment was spacious, well-appointed, and perfect for our group, especially as we had several visitors to entertain. The air conditioning worked perfectly (a huge plus in the Colombo heat!), and the bathrooms were spotless and up to the high standards you expect from Hilton worldwide. One small downside: the full-length glass doors to the balcony were locked and sealed, which was a bit disappointing given the view—but perhaps a safety policy.||The location is another major highlight. You’re in the heart of Colombo, with several supermarkets like Cargills Food City, Keells, SPAR, and Arpico just a short walk away. For fresh eats and sweet treats, Paan Paan Bakery is just around the corner and offers everything from pastries to fresh breads and cakes. ||When it comes to entertainment, shopping, and dining, you're truly spoiled for choice. The hotel is conveniently close to major malls like Colombo City Centre and One Galle Face, popular dining lanes like Park Street Mews, and several nightlife options, all just a few minutes away by tuk-tuk or even on foot. ||This was our first time staying at Hilton Colombo Residencies, and we left with only positive impressions. A perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and care—would...
Read moreDear Hilton Management Team, I recently stayed at your property in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from May 18 to May 23. I selected this hotel primarily due to its proximity to my office in the city. Unfortunately, my overall experience did not meet the standards I've come to associate with the Hilton brand. During my stay, I encountered several service-related issues, particularly in the breakfast buffet area. On one occasion, I requested to have my breakfast packed, as I planned to eat a bit later. The team obliged & assisted me courteously. However, when I made a similar request the following morning after waking up late, a staff member initially declined. After the manager intervened, the request was reluctantly accommodated. What made the situation uncomfortable was the same staff member repeatedly — at least five times — reminding me that this would be a “one-time exception.” This repetition felt unnecessary & left me feeling awkward & unwelcome. The final morning of my stay further worsened my experience. As I'd an early flight, I requested a green tea to-go. The lady who took my request seemed distracted & engaged in everything but fulfilling the order. After 15 minutes, she returned only to inform me that she would not be able to provide the tea. When I asked to speak with the manager, she said she would call him but never returned. As I was leaving the buffet area, I saw the manager & inquired if there were any restrictions around providing tea to-go. He confirmed there were none. At that moment, I noticed the same staff member from my previous encounter instructing someone to prepare the tea I'd initially requested, which was both confusing & disappointing. I also observed a stark contrast in how the staff interacted with Western guests compared to others. The differential treatment was noticeable & I could not help but feel that the service bias was driven by racial or ethnic preferences. Additionally, staff members appeared to expect tips for the most basic services, which felt inappropriate & not in line with Hilton’s global service ethos. Beyond the service issues, the cleanliness of the room kitchen was subpar — the utensils were not clean & the area seemed poorly maintained. Having stayed at Hilton properties around the world, including multiple stays at Hilton Colombo itself this experience was, regrettably, the most unpleasant. The service standards, especially at the breakfast area, were well below expectations & not reflective of the Hilton brand I’ve trusted for years. I hope my feedback is taken in the spirit intended to highlight genuine concerns & prompt necessary improvements to uphold the exceptional service Hilton is known...

This is a hotel draped in old-world luxury that primarily caters to business travelers needing extended stays or those seeking a luxurious home-away-from-home experience. The prime location near Colombo's attractions and a roughly 30-minute drive from the airport are big pluses. However, keep in mind it's not directly on the beach if ocean views are a priority. Overall, while it may not quite reach the heights of luxury, it offers a reliable Hilton experience with friendly service
LOCATION: The location is a double-edged sword. On the positive side, the hotel sits in a quiet, upscale neighborhood within walking distance of some popular attractions. However, it's slightly removed from the main Colombo bustle, so if you crave a vibrant nightlife scene right outside your doorstep, this might not be ideal. Taxis are readily available, and the airport is a manageable 30-minute ride away.
DINE + DRINK: Didn’t have the chance to sample the food at their popular FLOW restaurant. So I cannot comment on dining. There is also a cocktail lounge on-site, but for more variety, you might need to venture out.
ROOM: We stayed in Room 3004, which was a 2-bedroom Suite, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Super spacious Apartment suite with a huge Living and dining area, big kitchen that is fully loaded, and 2 separate bedrooms that are big enough to accommodate 2 families; VIEW: Spectacular views of the lake and the glittering tower! ; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM: 2 separate bathrooms, each with a Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good spa-quality toiletries
FACILITIES: Excellent Gym that was compact but loaded with a phenomenal range of weights and Cardio machines good enough for a full-on workout. The outdoor swimming pool is huge (almost a Lap pool) and comes loaded with million-dollar views of the Lotus Tower. They also have a lovely TENNIS court and other recreational facilities that are great for an extended stay
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. S
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! 2 Big Smart TVs(one in the hall and one in the bedroom) dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in...
