This is a great cafe in Colombo, I am particularly fond of the paninis, which I would highly recommend.
I was however very disappointed during my visit there today. The staff were engaged in their own conversation from the time we entered the cafe and it appeared that trying to place an order was a disturbance to them.
The female employee at the store front was rude and not willing to answer questions.
All the tables were dirty and the floor in the outdoor sitting area was covered in spilled juice. It was frankly quite dirty and full of flies. I had to request for the table to cleaned upon sitting down.
In addition to us, there were two customers who were working from the cafe. During our entire time there, the staff was being extremely loud and obnoxious, laughing out loud and shouting from the kitchen. They were also openly mocking a customer in Sinhala and Tamil for all the other customers to hear.
We ordered two tropical balls and they was served with no napkins and our request for that was also met with annoyance. We got our paninis with no cutlery.
Additionally, the latte is served in a water tumbler which makes the coffee too milky. The coffee was more like a cappuccino than a latte since it had too much froth/milk. I suggest investing in actual latte glasses or serving them in cappuccino mugs.
I would caution the owners to not let bad / careless employees ruin the reputation of a great...

We went to the outlet today and noticed a Mintpay banner just outside, advertising 20% off for paynow transactions, valid till March 31st.
When inquired about this, the service personnel didn't seem to have any idea about it and kept sharing conflicting information.
My first point to the management: Please keep your service personnel informed of any ongoing discounts/ promotions. Turns out 20% off for paynow is available only on selected days.
My second point: Please give your staff some training about good manners.
The fair skinned lady wearing specs at the counter felt the need to cuss us and say things in Tamil, to the effect of 'seated and eating like big shots but paying in installments'.
Her attitude is deplorable. While she was nice when handling the bill, we were already disappointed at hearing the demeaning things she said about us in Tamil (probably assuming we didn't understand).
If you do not want customers availing any offers and consider it a nuisance when we ask about clearly and boldly advertised discounts, maybe just don't offer them?
I understand miscommunication can happen between management and staff but treating paying customers this way is inexcusable.
I will not be returning and have no interest in recommending the place to anyone...

The prices are fair for the quality of service and food, and often cheaper than from UberEats. I've enjoyed their Matcha Rose Latte, flourless chocolate cake, and bagels through UberEats before, and they were all delightful.
This time, I tried the lemon square, sunshine bun, and Scandi cinnamon bun. The lemon square was my favorite with its perfect tanginess and the lemon glaze was a perfect addition to it —one of the best lemon bars I've ever had. The Matcha Rose Latte is rich and aromatic, though there were a few clumps of matcha at the bottom, probably from not sifting the matcha well. However, this didn’t affect the taste.
I was especially impressed by the staff's flexibility. I've changed my matcha order from takeaway to dine-in, from hot to iced, depending on my schedule and the weather. Each time, the staff kindly adjusted my order without any frustration.
This café, offering multi-cuisine bakes with Sri Lankan hospitality, is a hidden gem that promises a delightful...
