The London Grill — Restaurant in Colombo

Still the best steakhouse and fine dining establishment in Colombo. Top notch service - you don't have to struggle to get attention from your server and yet you're given plenty of breathing room to have a sense of privacy during your meal. Anything extra we asked for as accompaniments were provided no questions asked. Had the lobster bisque as an appetiser - great if you really enjoy a strong rich, creamy seafood infused soup with a light texture of broiled shredded lobster through it. For my main I enjoyed a Magret de Canard - you can specify the cook of it and I requested a Berry compote to be added on the side. The duck breast itself was fresh and supple (considering it was most likely imported) and portioning was very on point. Desert was dinner and a show with a rich Baked Alaska! In between each round we were provided with palate cleansers - a savoury carrot mousse and a berry sorbet. Excellent coffee with decaffeinated options to finish and some mini icy chocs complimentary with the bill. Price wise not your daily indulgence, but if you're looking to spoil yourself it's value for money - relative to some other steakhouses that really amount to gastropub menus with often many of their best items out of stock or...

Located at the Cinnamon Grand hotel, this is a fine dinning restaurant with nice ambience and a live pianist to entertain the guests. However, having the ballroom situated right next to the restaurant isnt ideal as the noises (loud music) from an event took away from the overall experience.

The service provided by all the staff was very professional. The food tasted delicious and was served promptly. The lobster bisque was prepared by the table side which added a nice touch to the dining experience. The serving of an amuse-bouche and a granita added more class towards the fine dining experience. The crème brûlée could be improved as it lacked the smooth silky texture.

We appreciated Pradeep's attention to details besides his friendly and welcoming demeanor. To enhance the ambience in the area we were seated at, he took the initiative to lower the lights which we felt was very considerate on his part. It was truly remarkable to witness such proactive behavior.

Thanks to Chef Azam, had great steak. The whole menu was great (halaal). Went recently, and it was named "THE CLUBHOUSE STEAKHOUSE".

The beef steak was cooked to perfection along with its side, the most famously known - "Bearnaise Sauce." Loved the sauted mushrooms and mashed potato that was accompanied with our steak.

Loved the atmosphere (the real atmosphere when fine dining) and loved the service of Chef Azam and his staff. Very knowledgeable (about the items in the menu) & very corporative staff.

Hope "THE CLUBHOUSE STEAKHOUSE" remains to continue the same. Not just its name but the highly appreciated menu (halaal factor) that served great steak, starters, etc. And never forget, Chef Azam & his team.
