First of all, I want to express my gratefulness to all the staff in Roppongi, thank you for the excellent service and delicious food which left us an unforgettable birthday.
We ordered guacamole smash, fried chicken, tonkotsu ramen, skewers and sesame ice cream. We are especially impressed by the guacamole smash, tonkotsu ramen and the unique sesame ice cream. The flavors of these dishes are well balanced and the presentation is gorgeous. Great example of Japanese fusion food. The restaurant also has a good variety of cocktails and some alcohol-free mocktails. We enjoyed the non-alcoholic cava a lot. We went there with our little daughter who wanted some juice. We were a bit worried in the beginning (since no juice on drink cart), but thanks to the nice and creative staff, she got a passion fruit juice and she was very happy about it 😊 .
Although during the serving some small incident happened (I asked to leave out green onion in the ramen but the first time it came wrong), we however got an even better impression. The staffs apologized to us sincerely when they realized the mistake, and the chef quickly prepared us a new one. I am very touched by the fact that they took our request and feedback seriously, and that they were communicating in such a friendly and sincere way. The manager of the restaurant is also a super nice guy, we had some small nice chats over the restaurant operation and food concepts. Before we enjoy the ice creams, he came to us with a surprise “birthday fireworks 🧨”!
Based on this experience, I would highly recommend anyone who want a combination of “tasty food/drink + excellent service + good atmosphere” to try this restaurant.
@Rappongi, please keep the good work. I believe that the high quality food and friendly service will outstands you out...
Read moreFrom the moment we entered Roppongi, we were impressed. The interior is absolutely stunning, modern, vibrant, and full of energy. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, though the music was slightly on the louder side. That said, it wasn’t disruptive to conversation.
The service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout our visit. They demonstrated excellent knowledge of the menu and drinks, and any minor issues we encountered were addressed promptly and professionally.
The drinks menu was also a pleasant surprise, creative, playful, and well-executed. The cocktails were both fun and flavorful, complementing the food.
As for the food, we tried a range of dishes: Oysters: Served as expected, fresh and clean in taste, no complaints. Karaage: Crispy, well-seasoned, and surprisingly generous in portion size. Hokkaido Milk Bread: Perfectly balanced between sweet and salty. Sashimi: Exceptionally fresh with a firm texture. No trace of fishiness. Tebasaki: The chicken was well-cooked, tender, and juicy, very well executed. Wagyu Skewer: This dish was a bit inconsistent. My serving was overly chewy and difficult to enjoy, while my dining companion had a more tender experience. Upon comparing, we concluded that I may have simply received a tougher cut. Yuzu Sorbet: Light, refreshing, and a lovely palate cleanser to end the meal. Goma Aisu: A rich and delicious dessert. The only critique is that the caramel sauce was slightly overpowering.
Overall, Roppongi delivered a wonderful dining experience. With great food, fun and well-crafted drinks, and fantastic service, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, and I’m already looking forward to returning to explore more...
Read moreJapanese opinion here. I have nothing much to say about their service and staff. They were nice! We also had a nice little chat with a floor manager (I guess) after our meal :)
Food is decent. I liked karaage (fried chicken) in particular, and yakitori were also good. But salmon sashimi was a bit of a disappointment. They were chunky but not sliced in the proper way or shape that I had expected.
As others have also mentioned, the price is pretty high for the portion you get. Even considering all the conditions and special setups and for being Sweden, it’s a little painful to see karaage of 4 pieces at about 130kr and yakitori of 2 sticks at about 120kr in my honest opinion.
The atmosphere is hardly that of a Japanese izakaya. Not that it was bad, but it felt more like a fancy restaurant to me, personally.
Overall, if someone asks me if it’s an “authentic Izakaya”, my answer would be “no”. But if someone is looking for an Asian restaurant for dinner in general, I would recommend checking out this place.
Would love to come back to try their...
