Hello fellow traveller, local resident and everything else in between.
Many of you come here for quick and dirty "checks" to see if this place is worth your while, and if you are in a rush, see summary below, however if you do have time, please read on ....
As a good "Storyteller" I shan't shy away from words, sharing my journey with you all, journey that made this immensely wonderful experience at this butique restaurant with a modern urban decor setting that makes you feel right at home, an unforgettful experience.
A place that gives you that feeling you are in the right spot after aimlessly looking at the ovewhelming amount of restaurants to eat in Stockholm.
A place, that is a gallery of senses, pleasing to the eye by sending your sight to wonder over display of art both on the walls and on your plate, whilst turning your pallet in a mouthwatering waterfall of new discoveries by turning the "not so ordinary" into extraordinary culinary masterpieces.
A place where Vietnam's divine cuisine is turned into something else, with twist of a modern magic and creative minds.
Immerse yourself in something different, in something wonderful and share the experience with your family, your friends, work colleagues, come alone, bring a date or join a stranger and make new friends.
Whatever the reason to the visit of CHiOi, in my humble opinion, the chances of being disappointed are none, zero, zilch, nada, tiddly squat.
At the start of this reviewI promised to share my journey with you, and should you are still not bored and overwhelmed by the sheer overload of positive feedback for this restaurart, let me provide some context to how I came to such conculsion.
Viernamese restaurants, in most cases, are lovely, quaint and modest. And that is fine, after all, it is the food, the people and the customer service that makes us fall in love with the place. The thing is, I never came across Vietnamese restaurant like CHiOi, and that what made my experience so magical, there is no other way to put it.
If you do not believe me, that is absolutely OK, but I would encourage you to go and see for yourself and tell me, was I right or wrong?
Customer Service: Outstanding, you will be well looked after without feeling that you've been forgotten, or hassled

Read moreThis place was a lot posher than expected, which is also reflected in the prices. The food was nice enough, but we've had just as tasty Vietnamese food elsewhere for less money. The bánh xèo had a pretty tasty filling (minus the red bell peppers that are not part of Vietnamese cuisine), but the bánh xèo itself was this fancy lattice, when in fact it's supposed to be a lot thicker and crispy, which was a let down. The mothers sticky rice was tasty, but the portion size of the price was just silly small. Yes, it's supposed to be a sharing dish, but if three people was supposed to share it, everyone would only have gotten a mouthful. The flavours where pretty spot on though, so not much to complain about there, just not enough food for the asking price. The Vietnamese coffee was way too weak, even compared to most other Vietnamese restaurants in the city. Staff was friendly if a...
Read moreWe just had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant, and we cannot recommend it to anyone! I am Vietnamese and was dining with two elderly relatives, also Vietnamese. We ordered stir-fried chicken with lemongrass and chili. Since there were no spoons left at the cutlery station, I politely asked a male staff member if he could bring one for my aunt. To my surprise, he questioned why a spoon would be needed for chicken with rice. The first time, he brought me a knife and fork (although I had clearly asked for a spoon). When I asked again whether he really had no spoon, he showed an unwelcoming attitude, then finally handed me a spoon while remarking that it was the first time he had ever served chicken rice with a spoon—spoken with clear disrespect.
Whether we eat with a spoon or anything else is entirely our choice. You are serving Vietnamese food to Vietnamese guests—who are you to tell us how to eat it? Such an attitude feels discriminatory and reflects very poor professionalism.
As for the food, we would rate it a fair 6.5/10. But regarding the service and behavior of that staff member, our rating goes down to negative infinity!
We sincerely hope the restaurant will improve its service and act with greater professionalism in the future.
