This one hit the spot for me. You have to walk a little from the subway. When you walk in, you feel warmly welcome right away. I have been to "pubs" all over the EU by now and NONE made me feel like back in the UK like this one. Nobody gives you an eye when you walk in. Nobody silences their voice. Nobody bats an eye if you walk straight to the bar and by accident bump a shoulder, because you look at the ambience and stumble. Ordered their Churchill house tab and got into a chat with the canadian bartender. Again, it felt like back in the UK. Not like a forced conversation, but an honest one. He told me about his backstory and I about mine (briefly of course). The fella even gave me recommendations about "Gamla" in Stockholm - I just wanted to know if the location in generall is nice, he told me what pubs and bars are good - 10 out of 10! The Churchill beer was actually, surprisingly, good. Their toilets are clean, super clean even. A shame I came there fed. Bet their food would have been good too! If you come to this pub thinking that you pay for "It's Sweden, be ready", you would be surprised! I paid 6,60€ (that's what my bank showed me an hour later) for a pint, which is roughly 40 cents more expensive than where I come from. Honestly, for the location and the absolute grand ambience, I would have expected and been willing to pay more than that. The canadian lad was insanely kind to every guest coming in. Even when they stood infront of the tabs and asked, what they have on tab....yup, that did happen. I told him I would come back and I will. This was an absolute blast, but I did want to see more of Stockholm. I followed his recommendations and even those were a 10/10. Seriously, you do not go wrong with...
Read moreTwo years ago when I arrived in Stockholm I stumbled upon this gem of an English pub and was wowed by the warm and cozy interior, friendly staff, and top-notch food and drink. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was transported to a traditional pub in the heart of England. The service was impeccable and the staff was super nice and helpful. But the real star of the show was the food - I'm talking top-grade pub grub that hits all the right notes. I went with the beer battered fish and chips and they were seriously the best I've ever had. In my second visit I ordered Chili på Högrev and third visit Entrecôte. This pub has everything you could want and more. If you're a fan of a good old-fashioned English pub experience with all of your favorite beers and whiskey, you definitely need to give this place a try. You won't be...

It's not my favourite Churchill's. I think it's mainly because it's to big with too much open space. To me Churchill's should be more cosy with leather armchairs and closed of both in cosy corners, low ceiling and less windows. I want it to feel like I'm actually in the 1930s in England wit oak panels and rugged leather.
I found this place loud and my throat was sore from screaming over the table.
They closed quite early, but it was a Thursday so it might be expected.
I should also add that this was one day after the corona restrictions was lifted, so it could be a factor of why it felt so spacious and empty. Every seat was occupied though and I'm glad we made a...
